Should there be a stock watch deadline?
Debate below.

I'll start the debate.
I personally think there shouldn't be a stock watch limit. I feel like players should be rated whatever they are voted to be, no more and no less. If a stock watch thread goes up right before the playoffs and it raises/lowers a player's rating, then it can just be assumed that the earlier rating was incorrect.

I never really thought it needed a deadline but think it is a good idea since it was brought up. Even if a player doesn't need a stock watch he is likely to drop or gain a point or two in the OPs favor if one is opened. This could get messy since anyone can open a stock watch.

I know I'm new but my thought on this is that in the real life, players' performances do shift around and don't stay consistent especially into the playoffs for example Kyle Lowry. So why have a deadline here??? If you're team is really built for the championship you should have enough depth to account for dropped ratings of a player or two

So why have a deadline here??? If you're team is really built for the championship you should have enough depth to account for dropped ratings of a player or two I agree with this somewhat, but massive variance for a player's performance is already built into the sim engine, so a great player might still player 4 terrible games and get swept in a playoff series regardless of rating. The stock watches should mainly serve to adjust a player who has regressed significantly or someone who has completely transformed their skill set to include or eliminate certain facets of their game. Paul George was definitely rated higher than he should have been based on a stellar month, but his performance didn't significantly change outside of the one outlier month that we used to give him his rating, and it really is on everyone for giving him more than he deserves. Either way, I don't think a player typically loses all of their skills for any period of time until they get much older, so we shouldn't really be looking to Stockwatch based on variance in play. We should be looking to SW for much larger changes. Especially since each player only gets two possible threads per year - one from their owner and one that can be used by anyone else in the league.

Actually, I believe we got rid of the stock watch thread limit earlier this year since things ran so smoothly and there was little to no abuse.
