I accept. I think this draft is deep, especially in the middle of the 1st. I'll take my chances on the pick

Accept, like this move from both. Oubre is a solid piece. #16 is a little more than I'd offer but Minnesota likes more established prospects than picks and who am o to judge

Reject, Minnesota has essentially just traded Zach Lavine for Kelly Oubre? Like I said, he keeps slowly losing value and is driving the team into the ground. We have to put our foot down eventually.

I'll just point out that oubre is much better than your average 16th pick.
Here are the last 6 Justin Patton Guershon Yabusele Terry Rozier Jusuf Nurkic Lucas Nogueira Royce White
You'd rather have Oubre than 4 of them at least, or 2/3rds.

But I think I'd rather have Josh Hart and Oubre than the privilege of paying Zach Lavine over $20 million annually.

I wouldn’t do it but some people are insistent on trading their picks because they are too lazy to do a little research. These people will always exist and Mambas argument rings true here as well.

Most likely Oubre is never gonna be a star, but starter level defensive minded combo forward is still very valuable imo. I like Oubre, he is still bit underrated. Based on how much some people value draft picks here, Minny could have probably gotten more value wise, but again I don't think this is rejectable, or even close to franchise ruining. Accept

Franchise ruining happens over time as well, which means it is and should be up to the discretion of voters to decide how much a team can stand to lose over a series of bad trades and vote accordingly, especially in a case like this when a GM is being unnecessarily vague about their "plan" and that keeps us from having any of the context that might make the trade worth it. Also, Agree to disagree that Oubre, Hart, and what amounts to a 2nd round pick is anywhere near acceptable value for a guy that has the ability to establish himself as the #1 option on a (hopefully) up and coming Bulls team. I've had much more appropriate-value trades laughed at and rejected by the TC of old based on teams possibly losing long-term value, despite clearly stated reasonings for why the trade could make sense for the "loser." These have done nothing of the sort. Trusting an unknown plan just because YOU aren't personally sure you'd want to pay a player max money doesn't mean that it wasn't a huge blow to franchise to turn Lavine into kibbles and bits when the best remaining hope for a future past 2020 rests on the shoulders of Bobby Portis.

I think this is a marginal improvement for where MIN is in the wake of the LaVine deal--but overall I still think this is bad asset management. Someone will offer Oubre 13 mil a year, increasing for 4 years because he's a young starter--which is less than what LaVine will get, but doesn't mean MIN will be better off because LaVine is already more proven, has greater opportunity and upside.
I very much agree with Steve's analysis here. MIN did a good job gaining value early on and now is making big gambles turning quarters into two dimes which is a bad way to deal. I'll accept because I do think this is an improvement from his status quo, but overall this LaVine series is a mess.
If MIN wants to continue to do quick turnaround trades like this involving his more valuable assets, I strongly urge him to start doing multi-team deals. That way he won't appear to have his ass flying in the wind on his secret plan, and we can look at the bigger picture when evaluating his trades. He could have accomplished these two LaVine trades through one three team deal which would have looked much less poorly thought.

So this post is me doing that.

I wouldn't do it if I were Minny but that's not what we're voting on. I can see the appeal of Oubre, you are at least guaranteed to get what we've already seen of him, he's an NBA rotational piece. Pick 16 could be more or it could bust. There's some gamble there.
I agree that looking at the whole LaVine series of trades may look a little iffy, but this trade here is not rejectable IMO.
Accept.

I’ll accept, this trade in a vacuum is fairly even and the previous trades leading up to this one are irrelevant to whether this gets passed or not
