I just think it’s funny. You say I don’t need to make the trade. But yet, you’re going to accept it. You’re just contradicting yourself.

I don't get how people think trading of the 24th pick is franchise ruining.I mean there was a point made in the other thread that these late picks rarely amount to something and now all of a sudden trading it is franchise ruining and rejectworthy? And it is not like it does not serve a purpose,Boston still gets under the tax with room to re-sign Beasley who they want.

If you make make many "not franchise ruining moves" but they are all bad, you could put yourself in a bad situation...but hey I passed this. I agree with that but if rejects were given out for every deal that seemed to be lopsided but not franchise ruining then almost no trade would get passed. Also a couple of comments were that they don't need to make this move to get under the tax right now but this is the best time to cut salary since some team can use 19-20 dead money to go over the cap to take on salary which would not be possible after the salaries roll over. After the Utah trade they will be at 145 mil at the start of season without Beasley which is 9 mil over the tax.Even if they re sign Beasley to 10mil a year(real life he got 15 per year),they will be over the cap by almost 20 mil. After FA while Aldridge's value would increase, they would still need to find a trade partner with both 20 million in cap space and a willingness to take on Aldridge while getting nothing else back. These conditions mean that possible trade partners for them to get under the tax would be very few if any. Edit-Aldridge is already 35 and went through a shoulder surgery too.So there is also a possibility he falls off a cliff in terms of production.

Yeah, there already has been GM's in this thread saying they would take Aldridge for free if they miss their FA targets. So giving a pick #24 in that situation is not good just to dump him. There is absolutely no reason to rush getting under luxury tax right now. It's completely possible for them to maybe keep both Alridge and be able to keep even Beasley, and be competing for championship.
Not like they are repeater tax payers. It would not be end of the world to even stay above tax line for this year and go for big playoff run, and just not pick up LMA's team option next year to get rid of salary.

Since you voted again,I want to ask if TC members can change their votes in the league voting discussion since I did not tag them

Since you voted again,I want to ask if TC members can change their votes in the league voting discussion since I did not tag them yeah. The way I envisioned it, and maybe it needs spelled out, is the TC votes count automatically -- so it starts at 3-3 and then the rest of the league adds their accepts and rejects to that total. If a TC member wants to change their vote they can, but dont count it as a double vote, count it as changing from the original 3-3 tally.

Reject! Accepting this out of spite is setting a bad precedent. Also Red Auerbach you need to start utilizing your trade block.

Going to be reject just to help out Red but really it should be accepted there's nothing franchise ruining because that pick isnt going to save or hurt his franchise, being in cap hell with a bottom or middle of the pack team will though....
Did he need to add the pick no, LMA is still decent and not that long or bad of a contract , but stil nothing that screams this will hurt him for years to come.

This looks like it's going to reject which I think is right but I'm going to accept due to semantics - it's super lopsided but not technically franchise-ruining.

This is ultimately why I voted to accept as well. It's a dumb trade for Red, I said so myself. However, I accepted it because it isn't franchise ruining. Red obviously realizing how bad of a trade it is during the TC voting, and then hoping we all reject to bail him out, was just a point I made and didn't effect my vote. Accept or reject, hopefully the TC won't have to continue to be put in a position to veto an obviously dumb trade that the GM wants to back out of after accepting.

Yeah, but at the same time LAC has been emptying BOS with a couple of moves starting in previous seasons.
Reject.
Edit: Maybe I am a bit of a hypocrite because I believe in winning but I actually searched for old BOS-LAC just before voting and it fell like deja vu.
