I accept. I think Kemba, despite the ratings, is the better player between him and Rondo. Add in that he's 5 years younger and under team contract for 1-2 more years, and I think he's a much better asset. To secure that better asset, I'm including Beasley, a rotation guy (or will be after his rating change). Beasley's nice, but I think his production can be replaced fairly easily, while it's much harder to find a talent like Kemba through his prime. Brian Scalabrine

I accept. Rondo is arguably the best passer in the league, so I want him on my team. He'll be in a good spot, setting up Dirk and Wade and (Bosh?) and BEASLEY. Kemba is a great asset, but I also add Beasley, whose contract might just pay off big time. If he can just keep up the play he's had on the Rockets, he'll be really helpful for my team. We desperately need players that can play the SF, and he's an improvement from Mbah a Moute.
Good dealing NYK!

I hate this trade for Toronto. Kemba is in his prime, just had the best season of his career, & is under contract an additional year. Rondo is five years older & the lesser player right now not even talking about down the road. This is essentially a 25 year old best player on a playoff team in exchange for the 2nd or 3rd best player on a bad team. Beasley is a non-factor for me as i stated in Stock Watch. He was available for anyone to grab about a week ago.

Yeah this makes no sense, rondo could be stock watched any day now. And kemba is coming off a great season.

Yeah this makes no sense, rondo could be stock watched any day now. Rondo posted stats above his career average in basically every category, he even kind of found a 3 point shot. The only thing about him that got worse year to year is his turnovers were slightly up.

He didn't light the world on fire those previous 3 years though.

Toronto is literally right on the cusp of a ring. This is the type of trade you make to get that ring, having Kemba doesn't matter if you don't get a ring. Look at his team, it's gonna be trash as early as next year. If I was him going for a ring I would also strongly consider a trade like this as well. This trade would make Toronto hands down the best team in the east. Kemba is worth a lot, I agree, I live in Charlotte. But is Kemba worth a ring? No.

No. Rondo is rated as the 25th best player in the league. Is that true? His team went 33-49 and he was not nearly the best player. 25th means he is an all-star or on the cusp. I wouldn't have voted for Rondo to sniff the All Star game. He was a solid starter.

I think with point guards the NBA has so many good ones you can't really say only all stars should be rated that high.
Players like Conley and Lillard don't make all star games either because point guard is the deepest position in the NBA, and it hasn't always been like this. The level of point guard play is so high, just a few years ago this wasn't the case.
Rondo is basically a walking triple double, his passing and rebounding is amazing for his position, and I think it takes more skill points to give him all those points. The only PG area he is deficient in is FT, which barely affects the overall rating.
Is rondo the 25th best Player in the league? No, of course not. But that's where you have to be careful of the overall rating is not merely a player ranking system, but a combination of skill points, and yes I do believe rondos skill set is diverse enough he needs all (or nearly all) those points he currently has.

What is this world I'm living in? Anyone besides BK heard of team composition? I need a guy to move the rock better. Rondo. To compensate for the age shit, I get Beasley, whose contract has potential to pay huge dividends. Both are guys that will fit on my team, and give us a little bump of the needle when we own the first seed by only a half a game. Rondo is good. As good as Kemba, next year? Probably not. But he'll still be worth some shit. He's not trash.

I'm gonna accept, as well. It's not a brilliant long term move for Toronto, but Kemba has had one All-Star caliber season and may end up not keeping up this level of play, so I'm not gonna be too caught up in that. Rondo is still a very solid point guard, and at that, a much more complimentary player to pair with the great scorers Toronto has around. Beasley is also not worthless. This trade works and helps both teams.

I'm going to accept. I really liked Rondo beside KD, honestly. This may hurt NYK for the title. All in all, I think Allan is winning this long term and I would've liked to see a bit more compensation on his end. But I can understand that isn't always possible in a trade.

Trade passed. Good luck to both teams in their goals! Pete Maravich I like Rondo quite a bit, while still being pretty wary on Kemba. You brought up a lot of great points, appreciate the thoughtfulness of the input you've been providing on the TC. I don't think I'm gonna be 100% right, you could very well end up having been right to reject this. Keep up the good work.
