BOSTON SENDS: Pick 20 C.J. Miles $8,333,333 $8,730,159TORONTO SENDS: Dillon Brooks $1,315,000 $1,615,000 $1,915,000*TRADE WILL BE DONE IN THE 19-20 SALARY YEAR*
(Toronto maintains ~1 mil in space)
Desperate times call for desperate measures--Unfortunately for Boston, that DEN-BOS trade looks like it has no chance to pass, so this is the deal Red and I have agreed to as a contingency in the event that it does not pass. The clock is ticking on that pick, so if it's okay with the TC, billy , and the staff at large, I'd like to post it now and start getting votes on it so that there's a chance that I can actually make the pick at 20 instead of 21.

If the Denver trade gets vetoed post ours.
If you need to, quote this message.
^^ that's Red. I'll tag him here too in the event that he is able to log on and accept himself. I know this is a little sketch but I think it would be rad if we could pass this trade as soon as the DEN deal gets fully rejected and I can make my pick.

Sad to see Brooks, a Canadian, go. I think he has a good chance at having a good season next year, he was big for his team in his rookie year, and I think he would have been even better this year if not for injury. MEM has toyed with him as something of a volume scorer--the numbers don't make it look amazing but if you really followed his rookie year closely, he had a lot of very good games, and lots of "doesn't show up in box scores" value. I really like Brooks, I think he'll have a great career, and I'm gonna miss having him on my squad. I think there's a good chance boston burns me in this deal--at pick 20 you are fortunate enough to draft a guy that gets an 8-10 year career as a rotation player. Brooks is gonna get that, and Boston unloads close to nine million in this deal. I think it's a good deal for both teams, very genuinely.

In any case, if I'm not mistaken here, Red's intention is to accept remotely, once the denver deal is rejected.

The deal with Denver was for Brogdon. If the deal has to be altered, I don’t want to do it.
This is a good trade for me. I get the young Brooks. Brooks will have a good bounce back season. The Grizzlies will look a lot different this season. Think he will have an improved role with the team. Brian came to me and really wanted to get something done for the 20.
I accept in the event that BOS-DEN is vetoed.

I have a question.
The salaries are for 18-19 but it is mentioned that this trade will use 19-20 salaries

Also i believe if this trade is made with the 19-20 salaries then it will become invalid due to CJ Miles' PO

A PO is an expiring contract at best and no contract at worse, so no.

billyI suppose since this trade is functionally possible if Miles opts in (likely) that if both parties were happy with a certain pick we could just vote on it and then have the PO decision function kind of like a NTC - opts in, trade passes, opts out, trade rejected? But yeah, obviously no other expirings are tradable so if he doesn’t opt in there is no version of this trade that could work.

Rejecting this bc Miles can't be traded as a potential expiring.
