Waivers
D720 teams can release a player to the waiver wire, where he can stay for 48 hours (during the regular season). While he is on waivers, other teams may claim him, for his existing salary. If he is not claimed, he is said to have "cleared waivers", and is treated like any free agent, able to sign with any team.
Players waived after March 1 are not eligible to be on a team's playoff roster.
Procedure
When a player is released in the "Waiver Wire" forum, a GM other than the one that released him may then post in the release thread saying they "claim the player".
IF: The team is far enough under the salary cap to fit the player's entire salary. The player has a minimum salary contract (one or two seasons at the minimum salary, with no bonuses of any kind).
The team the lowest in the standings at the time the player is released that claims the player in the 48 hour window after the player is released, will take on the player's existing salary.
