Waivers
D720 teams can release a player to the waiver wire, where he can stay for 48 hours (during the regular season). While he is on waivers, other teams may claim him, for his existing salary. If he is not claimed, he is said to have "cleared waivers", and is treated like any free agent, able to sign with any team.
Players waived after March 1 are not eligible to be on a team's playoff roster.
Procedure
When a player is released in the "Player Release" forum, a GM other than the one that released him may then post in the release thread saying they "claim the player".
The team the lowest in the standings that claims the player in the 48 hour window after the player is released, will take on the player's existing salary.

does the gm who release the player will not get his salary if he was claimed? The team still has to pay the players guaranteed salary even if claimed.

Really? That's not how it works irl. If a player is picked up off waivers, the new team assumes the contract and the original team is relieved of it. If the 48 hours run out, the contract is terminated and the original team has to continue to assume the contract.

If a player goes unclaimed then the team still pays their salary.
