Seattle SupersonicsSG 65 Eric Gordon $8,000,000 $8,000,000 $7,500,000 $7,000,000 $7,000,000 for Phoenix SunsG 69 Monta Ellis $9,080,000 2018 PHX 2nd The Seattle Supersonics accept this trade. We get a proven veteran to replace Eric Gordon at shooting guard, who is out the for year. EG is on a pretty nice contract and Phoenix will have his BR. I am in win now mode, and Monta Ellis could possibly push our team over the edge. Prospective starting line-up after this trade would be Lowry-Ellis-Lebron-Dieng-Favors.

I accept. With Mo and Chalmers being injured, my playoff hopes were shot. This gives me some future value for an expiring and improves my pick...win win for me, win for him. I had run some sims with EG back when Billy had him and I know how effective he is. Should be fine to trade him next year when he's back.

Solid enough. Ellis isn't worth close to EG in my mind, so the 2nd doesn't make up for it, but it should be interesting to see how the team interacts with Monta (classic high usage/low efficiency type of guy) as a potential end game to all the moves made by John. Accept.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Steve I mean... Can you honestly say you think Lowry/Ellis/LeBron/Favors/Dieng+Ish/JJ/Amir/TT/Zaza is a better line up than Lowry/DeRozan/LeBron/Aldridge/Dieng+Ish/JJ/Amir/Nurkic/Zaza? I just feel like you panic traded your team away and the only thing you have to show for it is Favors and a One-trick-pony rebounder in TT.

i think the aldrige trade was a mistake, i didnt realize the extent of EG's injury when i traded for him. It wasn't the most ideal situation but i still think it wasn't as bad as you made it out to be.
as far as the derozan trade goes, i think he's kind of shitty in the sim, as having a sg with 3 pt shooter attribute is pretty important and he lacked that.
nonetheless, if eric gordon were healthy, i come out of these moves on top maybe not for this year but definitely going into the future. i want to win this year but i also want to create a team that can contend for years, and having favors over aldrige fits that goal.

also, having ellis on the expiring allows me to have around 15m in cap space i can use to sign a FA this off season, and a player likely of higher caliber than EG. this trade allows me to grab a non-injured shooting guard as well as help me clear cap to sign someone better than EG.

John doesn't want a ring, he wants a dynasty!
How many dynasties?

Interesting question:
What's better? A team which dominates for 5 years making it to the finals 3 times and making it to their conference final every year but never wins the championship
Or
A team which wins the championship once in 5 years and the rest 4 years they don't make the playoffs

To me its better to win once and not make playoffs. I would relate it to the buffalo bills situation when the made the super bowl 4 years in a row and lost every year. Its seen as a failure over the giants who won it all and have been mediocore since.

neither. im making it to the playoffs and winning the championship every year. lol this question wasn't about you, it was a hypothetical one A lot of winning a ring is luck. You can't ever say for sure you're going to win a ring, you always need luck. Of course everyone would take the championship, but all you can do as a contending team is be in the top handful and hope it all falls your way throughout the season.

My biggest challenger has never been satisfied with his roster. I am pretty sure none of your players are actually happy with what you are doing right now.
