Current Rating: 79 Dude's great. All-star. Might be all-NBA 3rd team, a chance he would be 2nd team in a typical year. But he's rated as if he's MVP level for a typical year. Let's fix that.

The point here isn't to grade how he's doing "as of lately," but grade his true value. Let's not make the same mistake we did when he first came up for stock watch. Hot streaks are hot streaks. Expect regression. (And similarly with cold streaks)

Over the full season, he has a PER of 20.9, good for 29th among qualified players (>1500 MP). WS/48 of .157, rank 30th. BPM of 4.6, rank 12th. RPM 4.6, rank 12th. Net Rating of 5.4, rank 93 (not sure the minute cut-off; BRef doesn't keep net rating and RealGM doesn't have filters. But I think it's 400 MP).
Considering box-score stats correlate more closely to the overall rating than plus-minus, I think we're looking at an All-Star level player and nothing more.

I really dont think he needs a change at all. Hes a superstar in this league. If he had the same team around him as Lebron or Durant, Im sure his numbers would be a lot similar to theirs. Dont punish the guy for playing on a crappy team where he has to take all the shots.

You think PG is a similar talent as LeBron and KD? Come on. Let's just compare PG's season (by far his best) to LeBron's age 25 season (per 36), when his best teammate was Mo Williams, and the next players with most minutes were Anthony Parker, Anderson Varejao, and JJ Hickson. LeBron's numbers, while having arguably worse teammates than PG at the same age, were significantly better. Or let's compare to KD's per 36 numbers when Westbrook isn't on the floor. George again pales in comparison. And again, Paul George is a great player. He's not a LeBron/KD caliber player though.

Regardless, I believe LBJ and KD would have been rated higher than a 79 at age 25 and its kind of BS that this comes up right before the playoffs...

In fairness to Paul, comparing superstars per36 rather than per 100 possessions is gonna lead to some strange comparisons because it's so heavily based on minutes played. Deep bench players per 36 is fine, but not super stars who may actually eclipse that 36 minute mark and you diminish their numbers accordingly. That said, you're not wrong... PG is not putting up generational superstar numbers in this, his best season... Is there a possible reason why? (Cough, broken leg, cough, nasty injury, cough, missed all of last season, cough)... Sorry, allergies. Everybody knows years 25-27 are peak production for superstars not named Nash. This being PG's 25 season, and it coming right after missing a full season, it's an enormously unfair comparison to point at LeBron and KD, whose development was never hindered leading into their year 25 seasons. If PG comes in next season and still isn't producing at much greater volumes, then it's 100% fair to say he's not on LeBron and KD's level. Until then, grade him by a fair comparison of his production (easily superstar production per 100 possessions this year - 33.0/9.9/5.8/2.7/0.5) and we can adjust accordingly. TL;DR: Yeah, we overrated him too early in the season (I said as much either in his thread or in Kawhi's...), but not terribly. He's still a top 10 player, easily.
