Current Rating: 65 (In the words of the almighty commissioner... LOL)
This thread has been a long time in the making, but I've waited until now (essentially) to make sure the sample size for Khris' improvement was too large to be debatable.
I said last season that I could see him ascending his play to All-Star (or near) levels, and I think he's been close... would have been better if the team hadn't been a dumpster fire to start the season, though. Once Point Giannis was unleashed, the entire team started clicking and everything has looked better (on both ends) for all of Milwaukee's best players. With that said, on to the stats:
15-16 Season:
18.2 pts / 3.8 rebs / 4.2 asts / 1.7 stls ---- 44.4% FG / 39.6% 3PT / 88.8% FT
More specifically, Since January he's posted a stat line of: 19.5 pts / 4.2 rebs / 4.62 asts / 2 stls
In addition, in Milwaukee's 33 wins this season, Middleton put up numbers like:
19.8 pts / 4.5 rebs / 4.8 asts / 1.9 stls ---- 47.8% FG / 42.1% 3PT / 88.7% FT (TS% of 59.8%)
The thing that is most apparent to me is his improvement as a playmaker, increasing his assist average from 2.3 last season to 4.2 this season. In addition, he's still the same 3-and-D monster he was last season, with a green light to make things happen all over the floor that lead a bunch of huge games as the year was winding down.
Lastly, I want to point out ESPN's Real Plus Minus. Last season Khris posted some elite RPM numbers with a 1.97 ORPM and a 4.09 DRPM (6.06 RPM). This season, the team defense really effected Khris' defensive RPM numbers, which were negative until about half way through the season. Once major adjustments started happening and the Bucks began to improve as a team on the defensive end, Khris saw both his ORPM and DRPM increase until they reached his current level of 2.98 ORPM and 0.73 DRPM, or a total RPM of 3.71, good for 4th among SGs and 22nd in the league.
His RPM Wins statistic also has him at 12.19 wins, good for 15th in the league, and trailing 14th place DeMarcus Cousins by only .11 wins -- both MIL and SAC finished with 33 wins, and Cousins was instrumental in dragging his team to 33 wins, so that tells you a lot about how important Middleton was to the Bucks this season.
Regardless of his final number, I believe Khris is the prototypical 3-and-D player with potential All-Star caliber ceiling, and he should have the 3 and Dp attributes to back that up.
