Yeah, Game 5 is in Utah, not game 4.
For the record, home field advantage in bb-gm is 2.5%.

thanks for stock watching PG13 right before the playoffs, complete and utter brilliance.... thank you again. its actually quite unfortunate, especially after watching him dominate Toronto offensively and defensively, proving he is the 2nd best player in the East. Definitely a mistake to stock watch him :( But at teh same time Memphis is a stacked team, and were more talented that your team whether or not PG13 was a 79 or not.

Well considering the trades i made to improve the team (RoLo, Barnes, Henderson, Vonleh) since i took over and considering my depth compared to Memphis' depth, I had the advantage. No way I should have lost this series. I seriously think dropping PG's value by 3 overall points hurt my team a lot. I also believe the stock watch was unnecessary as there are PLENTY of other players here in need of one before PG. I was in 1st in the west by 2.5 games before PG's value dropped, and afterwards, i think my team ended the season sub .500. So I would love to thank whoever fucked over my team. Give me your address so I can send you an edible arrangement.

Don't wanna kick man when he's down, but I think Ian Mahinmi could definitely use a stock watch. He has become a very solid starting center this year and deserves an increase.
I don't think PG's stock watch was a mistake. He was just not that good in second half of the season (before playoffs) With new rating he was still ranked correctly in top 10, and had still higher rating than Kawhi for example. Could the rating be dropped with 1-2 points instead of 3.. maybe. But in general the guys ranked in top 5-10 are just all very close to each other, and it's matter of personal preferences on who gets 79 and who 76.

I'm not saying it wasn't a mistake... I think the timing of the stockwatch was a mistake. I think the system needs to be mended to prevent something like this from happening again. No disrepect to the Grizzlies, he put together a hell of a team and I'm happy for him, but PG's rating drop pretty much sabotaged my season. It's not fair that my superstar player dropped 3 overall points right before the playoffs. I think there needs to be stockwatch deadlines and restrictions of some sort...

BTW, how could you even say that he wasn't good in the 2nd half.... HOW DID THE PACERS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IF PG WASN'T GOOD.

it sucks but blaming sw for you being eliminated isnt logical. sw is there to most accurately portray a player, and if you feel that someone needs to be adjusted, you shouldnt feel obliged to not post a thread because it is right before the playoffs. if anything, players on playoff teams should be looked at even more to most closely simulate the most realistic playoffs possible. its unfortunate for your team, but the way your team performed after PG was decreased just proves your team needs more pieces around him to be successful.

How could I plan for my star player having his rating drop 3 points when I cant make any trades to improve my team after the trade deadline when the stock watch was administered. From what I knew, prior to the stock watch, my team was the best in the west. I made the trades I needed to to make that possible. If I knew that my best player was going to drop 3 overall points before the playoffs, I would have looked into a trade to make my team better. I understand trying to get the most realistic results, but how could I have planned for a rapid drop in production, when I couldn't make adjustments. This loops back to the timing of the stock watch and why I believe there needs to be deadlines/regulation. Sorry for speaking my mind

This loops back to the timing of the stock watch and why I believe there needs to be deadlines/regulation. Sorry for speaking my mind 1. unfortunately, that's a disadvantage you had coming in as a new GM. you didn't realize that PG was overrated with the first SW when he was playing out of his mind at the beginning of the season and whether you agree with it or not, his play did digress during the second half of the season compared to the first. 2. it shouldn't have been, if your team had been rated correctly. Look, your team vastly overachieved this year, especially after failing to make the playoffs last year. In fact, the last GM that owned Utah quit because he thought it would be impossible to win with that team (he is kind of an idiot, but that's beside the point). You had a great year and your future is bright. A lot of us have been here for almost two years with a lot of us having been in several other sim leagues for years before that and if we thought there was a problem with the stock watch, trust me, it would've been addressed by now. Don't think that we tried to sabotage you, because in the end, we are all just here to make the most realistic sim league possible.

no need to blame the SW.. Utah overachieve this season and that is a positive sign for the next season. I really think you did well as a GM of the Utah

Shoo.
A lot has been said here.
I think that whatever a player gets voted should be their rating, and realism is always the most important thing -- however I wouldn't be opposed to having a time to cut off stock watch. It shields teams a bit from end of season crap effecting their postseason too much, while still being mostly realistic, our injury system is the same way. Ryan Anderson, AD, Jrue Holiday etc all were out for season, but because they didn't miss 15 games their playoff teams here still get them. Perhaps wrapping up all stock watch changes by around the same time would be fine.

I have noticed that people have stopped voting once the playoffs started. Ibaka's vote stalled. Well, at least until you just voted BK. And no new stock watch threads have opened. Seems like we're self-policing that to a degree.
I for one am fine having the stock watch constantly open. While constructing my roster, I try to keep in mind what I think a player's rating should be on top of what it currently is. And I think there may be issues with a deadline in creating undesirable trade market dynamics, but I say put it up for vote and we can debate there.
