I think chemistry would be fun How would you like it to be implented though? Or you could care less? Like, you would be ok with a team being in general worse (each player gets a decrease in rating) or you would like the team to be worse in defense or something. Maybe, chemistry could affect specific ratings that are more related to team play.

Okay, I really like basketball-gm as it stands.
I enjoy the playing time modifiers as they are.
As you may know, donkey, basketball-gm is open source, and you can submit stuff to the github and he will gladly implement it. I've trying to get started working on some sliders for basketball gm.
I'd want a few gameplanning sliders, here is an example:
Run in Transition // Crash Boards -1.0 --------------------------1.0
with the slider being a modifier of certain parts of the results sim in the play by play.
I also would like season-long fatigue added.

yeah, basketball-gm is nice. maybe, you could have a thread to discuss things to propose to the basketball-gm simulator creator.

I think chemistry is kind of already implemented into the sim. Maybe not personality wise or experience, but it seems like some team combinations/lineups/players do impact how the overall team gels together

Yea, there's synergy modifiers for when certain combinations of player attributes are on (or off) the floor.
My ideal basketball the simulator: the NBA.

I honestly don't care about jersey ads. In fact, if I'm a theoretical GM I'm happy about them. More money to go around.

Have you seen a nascar driver suit and what they are like when they have to talk to the media? That's where it ends.

NASCAR teams are completely sponsored and paid for by companies, plus their uniforms literally cover them from head to toe, so it stands to reason they'd have a lot of endorsements on their uniforms. NBA team uniforms don't have the real estate to add more than maybe 1 or 2 jersey ads

Maybe it is time to change the title of the thread. :D I follow 2 sports, Football (soccer x_x ) and basketball (NBA really) but If I had to pick 1 it would be the NBA because there are no ads,
Honestly, can't imagine ads improving revenues. Sure, there will be an instant revenue but I am not sure how it will work out long term. I think some people will stop watching the NBA because of them (not sure how many though) and I bet they will have a harder time attracting new fans.

Fairweather fans that watch the nba could care less about what's on the jerseys and the hardcore fans will not stop watching a sport they love just bc of how the uniforms look

Some might not stop watching the NBA but probably will watch less games. I just know that ads in European basketball games look ugly. Maybe, I don't make much sense right now but I associate the NBA with a certain tradition that I think will be severely hurt with the ads.

The ads are limited to 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches. That's pretty unnoticeable.
And don't give me any of that slippery slope nonsense. By allowing 2.5x2.5 inch ads, I (or players or whoever) don't give up my right to protest any future developments.

Also, why it is nonsense? To me, it is nonsense that they decide to implement ads when they are about to have all-time high revenues. At least to me, it is one of those "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" situations.

I think it's just a pretty case of the slippery slope fallacy. A slippery slope argument requires a warrant, i.e. you need to demonstrate the process through which one event necessitates the subsequent events. That warrant doesn't exist here. Any expansion to jersey ads will be an independent decision, with independent negotiations and responses.

I don't see how it is independent at all. I am not saying it is going to be the end of the NBA though. But I do feel like it will change things at least for me. I feel it like a betrayal to be honest.
Anyway, did not intend to talk about ads. I was just joking when I mentioned them. I probably shouldn't have.

Back to the ideal sim topic, how are match ups determined?
Would be cool to explicitly be able to assign certain players to certain players/positions on the opposing team for defense
