Thunder Trade- 2019 2nd 69 Greg Monroe $19,250,000 $21,000,000 $22,750,000 $24,500,000 Total- 19,250,000
Bulls trade
66 Enes Kanter $11,100,000 $11,100,000 $11,100,000 $11,100,000
PG 61 Cory Joseph $7,200,000 $7,400,000 $8,000,000 Total 18,300,000
I accept this trade, I like Monroe alot. I think he is going to have a better career than kanter. I love corey Josephs game but I can easily find another point guard.

I accept. I was looking to diversify my cap space, and this lets me do that while also getting younger and deeper. Hopefully Kanter gets a starting spot and has the minutes to really prove himself this year without Ibaka.

Not super in love with this. I think with Kanter's new opportunity in OKC we'll be viewing him and Monroe as very similar - especially after factoring in age and salary. I guess that leaves a 2nd and the difference for CoJo? I guess he may be overpaid a bit but probably an under sell on Pierce's part. Not enough to reject tho

I accept. I think OKC is getting the better side of the deal as Kanter's contract might look like a steal if he gets a bump in minutes and production with Ibaka gone, but definitely not rejectable for me.

To me, having kanter and Okafor on the same team is too much of a defensive liability. I know Monroe isn't the best defender but from what I've seen he is better than kanter. Kanter even with the ibaka trade still might not get way more minutes due to his defense

Good question. No trade clauses work pretty similarly to real life, in that the player CAN approve a trade if they want. The PA team essentially votes to decide whether the player allows the trade or not. There have been other deals where the NTC player chose to stay where they were (I think a relatively recent Steph Curry trade?), so it functions more or less how you’d hope it would - that the player has control of any trade moreso than the player being impossible to trade. He’s basically at the end of that deal anyway, no worries. You should be able to jettison the expiring this offseason if you want to bad enough.

I know how NTCs work in D720 .Just didnt know whether the voting was done or not as in the Curry trade the voting was done in the trade thread itself

I wasn’t part of the vote since I was part of the trade, but it could have happened in a PM or somewhere in the PA board.

Who the hell gave Monroe a NTC.... 1) It was one of several “promises” at our disposal at the time... all are basically gone except the NTC, which makes it a lot more rare as a “put my offer over the top” move today than it was then. 2) Monroe was honestly kind of promising at the time (though the writing was on the wall for him to depreciate heavily like he did). 3) If I’m not mistaken, I’d already missed my chance at Lamarcus Aldridge and was a little overeager to bring a solid FA on board. Just didn’t work out in my favor, long term.

No more slow the tempo down and feed it to the post.
