Orlando sends:
64 Amir Johnson $5,500,000 $6,000,000 $6,500,000
Sacramento sends:
Doc Rivers Memorial 64th pick in 2016 draft
I accept. Don't love the player option on the third year but Amir is still a good player on a good contract. Orlando gets to clear cap space for free agency and take a flier to try to find the next Amir Johnson (he was a 56th pick overall).

Any chance we can get some votes on this soon? I'm trying to position/plan going into free agency and it would be nice to know my cap situation. Love you guysss <333

I'm going to reject. I know it's a cap dump but Amir is a great piece. His attributes and rating compared to salary is awesome. Any competing team would be lucky to have him. I would like to see Orlando get a lot more than a 64th pick in the draft for him before I accept, especially since he gave a 1st and a 2nd to get him like a month ago from Seattle.

He has been on the trade block all weekend there has been plenty of time for other teams to make offers. Cap space is at a premium right now because everyone wants to play in free agency (not to mention he needs space to resign Fournier). Whichever side you like better, I don't understand how you could at all argue that this trade is franchise jeopardizing for either side.

It's not that it's franchise jeopardizing, it's that on June 22nd we accepted a that sent Orlando's 2019 1st and a 2nd to Seattle for Amir. Now, less than a month later, I'm supposed to accept a trade where Orlando sends Amir only for the 64th pick? Sorry man. Not enough time has passed for me to think his value changed that much.

Just because you guys passed a trade that was bad for Orlando doesn't mean this one is unfair. And to be clear, his value is down since June 22nd because al horford signed and will cannibalize his minutes

Sometimes "franchise ruining" can come in a series of more minor losses, and often those minor losses can be far more damaging than just trading away one franchise piece for under his value. The Kings and Orlando both experienced periods of this (the main reason you have this compensatory pick at all) and neither team has ultimately dug themselves out of the hole quite yet.
Furthermore, Orlando has a plethora of SGs/wings and only one starting caliber Power Forward in Johnson. This trade isn't necessarily "ruining" but it might end up being pretty damn close. Reject.

This is what I don't understand. Trades that make huge swings in teams' fates pass no problem and then low leverage moves get scrutinized so heavily and GMs are basically forced to make the decisions of the TC. Here is a franchise ruining trade that got approved:
Kings get: Jimmy Butler SAC 2017 1st
Pelicans get: Kawhi Leonard
This is the same Kawhi Leonard that got traded straight up for Anthony Davis. That trade is something like a 20-30 WAR swing over 5 years. But Orlando can't choose to sign 24 year old Evan Fournier and instead has to keep 30 year old Amir Johnson. It's just not consistent.

LOL that's not even the worst trade Jimmy Butler has been involved in. butler being passed around like a joint... He really has. In the past couple of months I think he's gone from Orlando to New Orleans to Sacramento to Golden State to Charlotte. Luke Ridnour thinks Jimmy's been traded too much

I accept. It's kind of a cap dump. Orlando didn't leave enough cap room to be able to match Fournier. In order to keep Fournier he has to move salaries for less than what they're worth. I agree that Johnson is worth more than a 64th(??) pick in the draft, but that's the price you pay for having to quickly shed salary.

I like this trade. I think Orlando is giving up his depth which is his main strength, but if he thinks fournier is worth it whatever.

Baron Davis I think the previous owner was planning on tanking. I think your 20-30 WAR over 5 years is a little off. The distance between Butler and Kawhi isn't that great, and if you had decided to tank this year a top 3 pick in the draft was basically yours for the taking (you're a bottom 3 team), and Butler + Josh Jackson/Giles/Smith is definitely worth Kawhi.

Where are we on the Bird Rights for RFAs? Orlando does not have Fournier's Bird Rights? If not, I wil accept even though this deal does blow for Orlando who essentially gave away a 1st now.
