Blake and I had a variation of this deal in the holster for a while now and I decided to do it after the horrible offers I received for Klay Thompson. This deal puts me in a position to rebuild while helping the Lakers compete now with a starting 5 of Parker/Bledsoe/Klay/Drummond/NV.
The corner stone of this trade is Dennis Schroeder who I think will develop into at least an All-Star if not an elite PG when he gets time with the Hawks this next year. This gives the Miami Heat a player to build around and every move henceforth will be made to make our team a better fit for Dennis. Henson, Thompson, Portis, and the draft picks give me prospects who I can develop for the future; I am a pretty big Portis fan so I am stoked to get him. Last, and certainly not least, this trade will help me be at the bottom of the league standings rather than in the middle of the pack which, as yall know with the Ricky Rubio trade, is a big deal to me.
As far as what I lose, I love Klay and think some of you undervalue him but I needed to trade my only asset to start the rebuilding process. I also really did not want to give up Jeremy Lin but salaries dictate that I do so. Tony Parker will be happier on a team that can contend and the 2nd round pick served as compensation for Hollis Thompson who was put in the deal for salary purposes.
Best of luck to Klay, Tony, and Jeremy with Blake Bowman and the LA Lakers. Also, I enjoyed working with you as always, Mr. Bowman.

The Los Angeles Lakers proudly accept this deal.
Following this trade, our line up will be:
PG - Tony Parker - 65 SG - Eric Bledsoe - 69 SF - Klay Thompson - 71 PF - Andre Drummond - 67 C - Nikola Vucevic - 69
6th Man - Jeremy Lin - 63 7 - Joffrey Lauvergne - 58 8 - Jared Dudley - 58 9 - Raul Neto - 47 10 - Rakeem Christmas - 47 11 - Tibor Pleiss - 45 12 - Tomas Satoransky - 45
I will still have my MLE to spend this free agency, I believe. This deal makes us a much stronger team and gives us a superstar. #MakeTheLakersGreatAgain

For the record Blake, the only team that has the MLE is Boston.
I accept.

Could the 2020 pick be top 8 protected? Everyone on Blake's team will have expired by then. I will accept if that is added

I will accept if that is added Uh no, the whole point of trading for a draft pick is to have a shot at those franchise-type players. The only thing I would be willing to do is swap the 18 and 20 1sts for 17 and 19 1sts even though I prefer how it is now but in fairness Blake picked 18 and 20.

I think the long term downside to this trade is too great to be ignored. The Lakers will have 4/5 of their current potential starters off of contract by 2020. If they haven't been successful by 2020, they'd be a team that should begin a rebuild. Without a pick, or the possibility of having one, they aren't able to do that.

Like Kylo, I am content with this deal as is and wouldn't be upset if neither happens.

Like Donald Trump said about Lyin' Ted, I don't want your endorsement because I think you are just a little bit bitter! ;)

I like this haul for Miami. Klay is the best player obviously but Miami is receiving several strong assets here.
