Rules
1. One thread per player per season.
2. Each GM will have the right to give his suggested Overall Rating for the player. (Let us call this a "vote")
3. For a vote to be valid, it should not only contain his suggested Overall Rating but also, the suggested skill strengths and skill weaknesses of the player (minimum of one each).
4. The Player's Skills
pace
usage
dribbling
passing
turnovers
shootingAtRim
shootingLowPost
shootingMidRange
shootingThreePointer
rebounding
stealing
blocking
fouling
defense
defenseInterior
defensePerimeter
endurance
athleticism
5. It will be a great help if you can explain why you suggested that overall rating for that player.
6. The new overall rating of that player will be the average of the GM votes after 6-10 days. One highest vote and one lowest vote will be cancelled to avoid anyone doing a very bias vote. The median vote will also be published for data collection. (To see after this season if we think that Median would've produced better ratings than mean).
7. The Rating Committee will have the power to deduct or increase the new overall rating by 1 if they see that it is the most accurate rating for that player.
8. The Rating Committee will handle the Skill Build of the players.
9. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF STOCKWATCH IS, BE FAIR, DONT BE BIASED!!
Ratings Guidelines:
Due to the nature of building players in the Sim, our ratings look different from some other leagues and video games like 2k. Our best player, Lebron is only an 84, because you can accurately make the best player in the game while still keeping it realistic, i.e. Lebron should be the best player but should his speed and strength both be rated 99? Of course not.
So utilize the rating scale as follows:
80-85 Generational Superstars (Lebron, Durant, Anthony Davis types)
75-80 All-NBA Players (John Wall, Blake Griffin types)
70-75 All-Star Alternates and Team Stars (Dirk Nowitzki, Damian Lillard, Kevin Love types)
65-70 Solid Starter (Jrue Joliday, Chandler Parsons types)
60-65 Solid Backup, Spot Starter (Mario Chalmers, Danny Green types)
50-60 Bench Players
40-50 12th man types//Fringe NBA Players
Of course use your own judgement when making ratings, if a player has a lot of skills and is very athletic, we will need a higher overall to work with when changing the players ratings to fit their production in real life.
Publishing Rating Changes:
Stock Watch Ratings will be published upon the player being changed. The owner of the current ratings does not yet want them to be released, but I will be happy to release the individual ratings for the players that we change and create here. So as everyone gets changed, then you'll know their exact ratings :)
