Shouldn't have to release anyone until bid is secure.

I don't know if that is the true purpose of that rule. I wouldn't want to release a player in hopes of signing a guy.

I like it. :P Think it would be an unfair competition for teams with an actual roster space otherwise.

Could anyone with a full active roster list the guy to be released when bidding? I don't believe NBA teams are releasing players when in the negotiation phase with a free agent.

Yeah, think John bid is still invalid based on the rules. I would add: "If a team with a full roster bids on a player the bid will be precoded only after a player is released"

Yeah, think John bid is still invalid based on the rules. I would add: "If a team with a full roster bids on a player the bid will be precoded only after a player is released" And the team would need to re-post the bid just so time tracking becomes easier. :P

so what if John made the bid on Jan 20, 2017 at 4:39pm with 15 players and then, releases a player on Jan 21, 2017 at 4:38pm while being the top bidder? :D

I guess Ingles goes to Washington here.
For future signings, the rule has now been updated to state:

Joe Ingles
