Nerlens Noel (current rating 60)
I believe Nerlens Noel should be rated as a solid starter (65-70). Last year he was a top ten defender in the NBA at only 20 years old, and ranked 4th in the league in defensive plus/minus. He is in the top of his class athletically with a 33 inch vertical and insane lateral quickness. Going into his second season as an elite defender and rim protector at 21 years old, it is obvious that he will be a DPOY contender and potentially an allstar for years to come. His weakness is on the offensive side of the ball, but even there he doesn't make many mistakes for a young center in this league. He takes over 80% of his shits from within 10 feet of the rim and connects on two thirds of his shots from within three feet. He is a finisher, a rebounder, and a defensive eliminator. Per 36 minutes he averages nearly a double double, 2 assists (awesome for a big man), over two steals, and over 2 blocks. He only improved as the season went on, and was playing like an allstar, of course after the allstar break. He was the only player in the league to average 2 blocks and 2 steals a game after the break and was first and second in both categories for the remainder of the year. As a rookie Nerlens had at least as good of a year as Andrew Wiggins, whose rating is 65. He made a higher percentage of his shots than Wiggins and was still in the top five for ppg among rookies. He led all rookies in rebounding, too!

For all his defensive talent and potential, the guy is an unfinished product that has already missed an entire season due to injury and probably wouldn't start for a large percentage of teams in the league (yet). 65 is too much for him, but I'd gladly give him an upgrade. He'll either prove in the coming years that he's worth a great rating or we'll find some glaring weakness in his game, but until then he's just not quite on par with some of the other "solid starters."

Yeah, you gotta wait on these guys. If he keeps playing like he did, no problem raising him this november or december, but until then I think a 62 is fine.
remember he put up those numbers on PHILLY :P

Philly played with a tall lineup, so it's not like the rebounding is inflated, and he of course wasn't defending his own teammates. I don't get your point.

60. He'll get there, and possibly soon, but he isn't there yet.
