The Philadelphia 76ers trade: ~ (72) Marc Gasol $23,100,000 ~ $25,200,000 ~ $27,300,000 ~ $29,400,000The Oklahoma City Thunder trade:
~ (64) Tristan Thompson $13,200,000 ~ $14.400,000 ~ $15.600,000 ~ $16,800,000 ~ (49) Alex Abrines $5,100,000 ~ $5,100,000 ~ $5,100,000 ~ $5,100,000 ~ $5,100,000
I accept this trade, I clear 5M in cap for this offseason plus I acquire a younger F/C (who's Canadian woop woop) that's locked up for a few years. Alex Abrines might have potential since he's already a pretty good shooter and OKV has produced pretty good guards in the past ( Harden <3 ), I didnt think Marc Gasol was going to be willing to take a paycut to continue playing with Philly and we were hesitant to reaqcuire him as good as he is due to his age.
Steve Jobs verdict please!

I accept this trade. The decision was a tough one, but ultimately Thompson's specific brand of defense isn't the type of thing that translates well to the sim while Gasol's is - plus his three point shot intrigues me. Worst case scenario he opts out, can't be convinced to re-sign with us, and we have some extra cap space. Best case scenario we convince him to stick it out one season and use the leftover cap space to bring in more talent so we can give the West a good surprise after presuming the Thunder to be tankers.

Interesting trade.
I will accept, but I wouldn't if the chance of Gasol opting out wasn't a thing.
Would Gasol opt out of Philly? They did really poorly this year, I think the chance that he opts out makes this a reasonable trade for Philly to minimize risk.

This is a tough one for me. Not sure it's enough for Gasol, but there is a chance he opts out. Though, with Dame and Harden on the roster, to me it seems unlikely. Seems MORE likely that he opts out of OKC, but it's high risk high reward for them, he might choose to be the focal point of their offense, getting OKC closer to contending again.
Risky for both sides, but equally so. I accept.

I accept. I don't think this is franchise ruining. Thompson/Abrines just aren't players at the level to be franchise altering, unless they're way overpaid which they're not. Gasol's not elite superstar level where it's crazy to get rid of him. There's a risk he just falls off a cliff, probably through injury, in which case those three POs look bad, but it's much more likely he's still a valuable piece in three years. Probably not $29.4M valuable, but valuable enough.
