We need to vote on a possible change to the trading rules.
Right now its currently legal for one way deals to happen. For people to just trade a shitty contract and a draft pick to a tanking team in order ot remove salary. In real life they would trade it for "cash considerations". However since we are not using real money there really isn't any non incentive to take on salary of this type, so I propose a cap hold to last the duration of the season when the trade takes place.
An example would be my trade with Indiana, while legal now, and good for both teams would look slightly different. Instead of Indiana trading me Brian Roberts and a 2nd for "Nothing", he would have to take a cap hold for the rest of the season until after the championship game.
That cap hold could be 1M, 2M, a % of the salary cap (1-2% depending on the size of the contract being shed). So the new trade would look like:
Indiana: Brian Roberts $2,732,000 $2,854,940 $4,045,894 2nd rounder
for
New Orleans: Cash Considerations (Cap Hold to be determined)
What do you guys think? Unnecessarily complicated?
Discuss.
Vote.

I'm indifferent, probably leaning towards it's unnecessary. However, supposing we'll implement it, I'd prefer it to be tied to the cap.
