Why would SEA do this? If it's quid pro quo, that's not legal.
Edit: Which isn't to say quid pro quo doesn't happen. But at least when it does they keep up the facade. In this case, there's no interpretation where 57 for 59 is fair value. 59 is simply a better asset under any interpretation.

So just wait to take your pick. No reason to let HOU leapfrog 58.

So just wait to take your pick. No reason to let HOU leapfrog 58. I could have even more time if I were picking later!

I feel the same way. Not calling collusion or anything, just doesn't make sense to accept a lower pick without asking for anything extra in return.

theres no collusion involved, this is a trade involving two end of 2nd round picks that will likely end up irrelevant. all i wanted was to move down so i could watch more of summer league before i made a decision... i dont understand why its such a big deal lol.

It just makes no sense. Two end of 2nd round picks that will likely end up irrelevant doesn't change the fact that one of the most value-conscious GMs in the league is trading pick 57 for pick 59 (due 12 hours apart) without seeking any kind of return value for Houston's move up as if an extra half of a day was enough to scout, or that there isn't a decent chance that the players left on the board that you find while watching Summer League during those 12 extra hours get picked with 57 or 58.
Again, like I said, I'm NOT calling collusion or anything bad, I just don't understand the deal or why you feel it is necessary to do it. Allan's point is very valid: if you're okay with losing two spots, you can just wait to make your pick.
