The Seattle Supersonics accept this trade. JR is a proven shooter in this league and we believe he will be a nice addition to the team. We lose Livingston but we already have like 10 PGs on our roster so he was expendable. This will also allow us to cut some salary and gain two players with team options next year in case we want to pursue free agents this offseason. @jet

I think the Bucks are giving away too much for Stephenson and Livingston.. Smith, Canaan and the two picks.. Stephenson and Smith crosses out but Livingston and Canaan well Livingston is a solid backup point guard and canaan is still improving.. maybe if the other pick is removed I think this trade will look much better

Seattle clearly getting the better end of the deal here, with the inclusion of the picks and Canaan already being arguably more valuable, though not as highly rated, as Livingston ( 2014-15 Stat Comparison), but Lance Stephenson does have the potential to live up to it if he can improve on his numbers from Indiana in LA, while JR Smith has likely capped his potential already. I'll accept.

Just a few days over 5 years younger, but the point is valid nonetheless.

i just want to state that there is no need to trade a 1st round pick because canaan will be better than livingston and smith and stephenson are both declining..as reggie said seattle wins this trade but not too lopsided that makes it not rejectable.. so i accept

By 2018 my team should be contenders so the pick wont be as valuable but u could get a better asset out of that pick..people are high on picks as ive observed hehehe Look, I get it... the odds of drafting a superstar (let alone a generational talent) with anything except the first pick in the draft are very low and decrease almost exponentially the farther away you get. But 60 players have to get drafted every year, and a lot of them end up being very good. To pretend like people won't get draft day steals as part of this sim league the same way real basketball teams do would be naive... So let's take a look at some current NBA players that went undrafted: Udonis Haslem (seems like a decent contributor) Jose Calderon (starting point guard for several different teams through the years) Now some current players drafted outside of the 1st round: Marc Gasol (48th pick... Yuup...) Manu Ginobili (57th pick... I'd say his career has been decent, right?) Paul Millsap (Pretty good) Monta Ellis (Perhaps the most effective player on a 50-win Mavs team last year?) But wait, there's more: An assortment of past and current stars drafted outside of the top 10: Kawhi Leonard (15th pick) Kenneth Faried (22nd pick) Rajon Rondo (21st pick) Tony Parker (28th pick) Kobe Bryant (13th pick) Steve Nash (15th pick) Shawn Kemp (17th pick) Dennis Rodman (27th pick) Karl Malone (13th pick) John Stockton (16th pick) Clyde Drexler (14th pick) Zach Randolph (19th pick) No descriptions necessary for any of those players... And finally, some players taken between 5th and 10th: Paul George (10th) Dirk Nowitzki (9th) Paul Pierce (10th) Tracy McGrady (9th) Dwyane Wade (5th) Amar'e Stoudemire (9th) Kevin Garnett (5th) Shawn Marion (9th) Vince Carter (5th) I mean... Let's get real here. If we're trying to pretend that we might somehow be immune to drafting poorly because it's a sim league, we're kidding ourselves. The stakes are lower and the analytics movement makes players much easier to judge, so yeah, we might get it right more often than most real life NBA teams. But still, clearly, any draft pick could be the star player that saves your franchise or helps your team win a championship. Over-valuing draft picks is stupid, but under-valuing them can be way more dangerous.
