I accept, I need to off load that contract and a 1st round seems to be the going rate for that atrocity I locked myself into this past off season. Further, if I have any chance of sneaking into that 8 seed next year, I'm gonna need some cap room to recruit a couple free agents.

Spurs are in a rough position. There's not really a right answer for them to go forward. But the value seems right to me. That contract is really bad. Some protection would be nice, but at least now he can actively make some moves with cap space to try to improve his team. I accept.

I'm officially gonna call this a reject without a top 3 protection on it. That contract sucks, but the spurs suck even more.

I feel like there are better options than giving up your 1st. getting rid of your future picks is a common trade that ends up ruining franchises and im not sure if SAS has a solid enough plan in place that he can execute for me to justify this move.

Chicago needs more for me to accept this Reject. Aminus contract is too heavy for a 1st rounder. I know PP loves draft picks but this is too much

This is ridiculous lmao, ones rejecting because I'm getting the bad end of the deal and Billy is saying that Sas is? The reason he's giving me that first means that he's trying to do something to improve his team. With that contract he literally can't move his team in any direction. There's no reason that that first needs to be protected, because that gives me no upside. That Aminu salary stops me from signing any FAs for 4 years and I'm taking a big gamble.

Here's the thing... cap space doesn't ruin a team's direction when they don't have any talent. SAS is basically just as close to tanking as CHI is, and Aminu won't effect that. It's extremely unlikely any great free agents are choosing SAS right now or the next year, so having a pick that could very well be top 5 with the right conditions is far more important than dumping salary.
Reject.

That Aminu contract is one of, if not, the worst contract in the league (Sorry Tyson Chandler). I am handcuffed by that deal, and if I was able to unload it I would've had the opportunity to sign a few Tier 2 FA's without a complete tank.

For me I didn't value first round picks because it's in two seasons. In addition to that, we honestly don't know where San Antonio will be by the end of 2019.
On the other hand, it's clear that you are weighed down by 20 mil for a couple of years.
So yes I do think that you're losing a lot because of the uncertainty of where Spurs will be.
On the other hand, Billy is saying that the Spurs has a chance that the 2019 1st round can be a very valuable pick.
Again I don't think we're (Billy and I) are contradicting/disagreeing with each other. I just think that we value things differently

Tldr I'm saying that Spurs could be contending in two years (could be possible with good stock watching, trades and unexpected great rookies) and you would get their 2019 first round which is not that valuable.
Billy is saying that Spurs might be like the 76ers irl and Spurs might be losing a potential superstar.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I think

Trades involving future draft picks because just like you said, there are lots of unknowns. sure, spurs are in a position where could easily make the playoffs soon but they could easily go the other way as well. in short, trading their 2020 restricts their options and if the David were to quit bc he can't sign anyone with the cap space he clears, that would leave the team without any players or picks, which is a team no one will want to take over
