Preseason will begin in the next week or two. If you want to update your depth chart to see how your team will do with various lineups, please do so in the Sim Depth Charts forum.
Preseason will consist of half a season of simulated games, where you will have the opportunity to change your depth chart twice during the course of the preseason. Depth Chart rules on "starting" players of certain ratings will also no longer be applicable.
Thanks.
Edit: See my following posts about changes to the rating system of players for this season.

I think that’s too many games. Maybe 10 or so is more appropriate

It doesn't really take any longer to sim 40 games than it does 10, especially when you consider the wait for one depth chart change, and 40 games will be far more useful to tell what your team is doing than 10.

Can we include unsigned second rounders on preseason rosters?

I feel like it will give you too good of a depiction of your team Steve Jobs

I feel like it will give you too good of a depiction of your team Steve Jobs How? The sim is and has been available to all of us in the pre-season for this exact purpose every year, including this one. And the results are always pretty widely variable, so finding a line up that has you undefeated through 40+ official preseason games isn't any guarantee that you'll find that same level of success once the real sim starts anyway. Honestly, I don't really care how many official games there are, I just feel like half a season of preseason games is roughly comparable to the information that a real coach has available after training camp, preseason, and all the practices leading up to the season. 10 games would be basically a waste of time.

Can we include unsigned second rounders on preseason rosters? No, but there is now a 2nd round signing thread so you could sign people that would then be on the roster.

Preseason is going to be postponed a week or two. Turns out dumbmatter (basketball-gm developer) completely changed how the "Height" rating works, now making it exactly in line with the player's real height. This basically fucked every player's ratings as we know it, but he also changed some of the skill formulas that involve height to lessen the change's impact. The current plan is to just "roll with it". The overall ratings of player's will change, but we were attempting to use height as a modicum for real life height anyway. The actual change is that while we were rating players "Height" rating on a scale of 0-100, the developer has now changed it that most players with heights between 6'0 and 7'0 will have a "Height" rating between 40-60. So, while the difference between players will be smaller now, the better ones will still be better. The reason for the delay is because the actual listed height of a player did not matter before, I never set an accurate height for every player I've created in the last three years. Now that it matters, I need to go through and edit the height ratings for a few hundred player's on top of the rest of the roster building I was going to do. However, in my opinion, this makes preseason even more important than before. You will need to see how your team looks and performs, and you will have an opportunity to stock watch players before the season with the new rating system in mind. Hold off on making SW threads for the moment, as we still do not fully understand the changes this will have on player builds. In general I think the change will be better by bringing the production of bigs closer to guard production (newsflash: bigs were better than guards before). Player's with lower height ratings from last year will be much better (Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul), while player's whose builds depended on them having 100 height (KD, Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert) will now be super nerfed. We anticipate changing these player's builds with stock watch threads before or early on in the season. This will require a different mindset in voting for a player's overall rating than it did before, these mindset will be fully explained in detail by Allan Houston before we open stockwatch during the preseason. Because of these changes I will be doing the full 41 game preseason for each team, even though DJ Jazzy Jeff 's statements were spot on earlier.Thank you everyone for your patience. Though this will take some time to sort out, I think it will make for a more realistic sim in the long run.

Thanks for the support billyI probably would've picked somewhere in the middle, like 24 or so. 41 did seem like a lot. 10 seems too few. But now I think the 41 is necessary.

Well, turns out adjusting the heights and then re-uploading the league file does not adjust the "Height" rating. It must be a one-time adjustment that is only done for league files that were exported from an older version of BBGM. That means the new height ratings are here to stay. Preseason will begin when I finish everyone's rosters.
Players with large increases/decreases in their overall rating due to their height being adjusted can/should be stock watched before the regular season begins.

Makes sense in a way. But for some reason CP3 got way worse? Rating went from 76 to 71 and he lost both 3 point and Dp attributes

Rating went from 76 to 71 and he lost both 3 point and Dp attributes He was one of the player's where we increased their "Height" rating to make them better. His real height, of course, is very short, so his new "Height" rating is much lower to match his actual height. He must've been a bad example. Player's who had "Height" ratings below 40-60 (depending on their actual height) are the ones who saw an increase. For example, Yogi Ferrell and Tyler Ulis are now 60+
