The Philadelphia 76ers trade: (71) Damian Lillard $30,315,000 - $32,430,000 - $34,545,000 - $36,660,000 2019 1st round pick (Top 3 protected) for The New Orleans Pelicans trade: (69) Carmelo Anthony $26,243,760 - $27,928,140 (68) Avery Bradley $8,808,989 billyI accept this deal, IRL I never wanted to pair up Harden with Carmelo in Houston but according to sims they'll work better together for me this season than Lillard and Harden would. I clear some cap space plus I acquire some much needed defense in Avery Bradley, I don't plan on that 2019 1st being worth too much because I am very high on Fox's future with my franchise.

With this trade I finished with 50+ wins every time I simulated but without it I only finish with 30ish wins, so according to the simulator right now it works out for me.

Can you trade players in a queued trade? Either way this is brutal imo.

Can you trade players in a queued trade? Either way this is brutal imo. Yeah, you can turn around and trade a player in a passed trade as fast as you want... Queued just means the trade has passed but the roster page/simulation doesn't necessarily reflect that. Usually if there is anything that keeps the trade from being official yet, like the early season time frame where you can't trade a player signed in FA, the trade won't officially pass until that period is up.

Accept, i dont like that 1st involved but this gives him defense in AB and a good sf in melo. if this helps him get 50 wins then all the power to him

Basing a trade on pre-season projections when a top 15-20 player is involved seems extremely short-sighted. Especially when that player is under control for 4 years.

I need defense and a quality SF, Lillard and Harden can't co-exist based on the simulations but Bradley and Harden do. This trade helps me win games this season so why wouldn't I do it? I definitely don't want to lose because I don't own my 2018 1st so really I have no choice but to win (which is what I want to do and this trade helps me do) I personally do not like Melo that much but if trading for him and Bradley (the main focus of this trade) I'm gonna do it without hesitation.

Because a trade being beneficial to your 17-18 win-loss record and being long-term beneficial are not the same thing. You should NEVER give up the most valuable asset in a trade without absolutely demanding that you get the most value from the trade that you can. Billy is notorious for being a stiff negotiator, but that doesn't mean this specific version of the trade is the most you could have gotten from him, OR that there aren't any better deals out there. Even more importantly, you can basically treat it as a rule of thumb that you should never give up the two most valuable assets in a trade. That pick being only top 3 protected - for another year from now when AB, who is already overrated and may get stockwatched, may have chosen to leave your team in free agency - could very easily be a lottery pick given unlucky conditions. Imagine... AB leaves, Harden has a season ending injury in 18-19, and Carmelo single-handedly carries your team to an unimpeded tank, which then results in you receiving the 4th pick in the draft. Now Billy has Dame, and Pick #4. Carmelo leaves in free agency. You have nothing to show from this trade after two years. Obviously that's the worst case scenario, but those things need to be addressed... not just in deciding what pick protections to put on the pick, but also when deciding whether or not to even INCLUDE the pick in the trade. In this case, I feel very strongly that 4 years of Dame is easily worth one of AB plus two of Carmelo. No sense in raising your 17-18 win total by a few wins if it means that your long term upside could be so dramatically affected. I reject this one. It's not impossible to even this out if you're dead set on it, but I don't think I could give an accept without that pick being taken out of the trade.

Lilliard is on a brutal contract and melo has the advantage of a team option, allowing him to either free up cap space for a big splash or keep him if he breaks out in OKC. Bradley is a beast on both sides of the ball and all areas of the court. Aminus contract is a fucking pariah as well.

Agree with Steve. Giving up the best player in a trade should yield more leverage and this trade is not fair even without the 1st round pick involved. Reject

I'm going to reject. Although Lillard is on a large contract, I think he will provide great value for the length of his deal. Giving up a first along with him for Melo and a year of Bradley is a real kick in the balls to a team. It may add 3-5 wins to your win total this year, but it will not make a difference with the strength of some other teams in the league.
