Chicago trades
59 Jahlil Okafor $5,180,700 6,532,863(to) $8,492,722 (QO) 49 Kyle Kuzma $1,015,000 $1,315,000 $1,615,000 $1,901,500 47 Jawun Evans $1,015,000 $1,315,000 $1,615,000 $1,901,500 55 Josh McRoberts $6,021,175(contract) 2019 2nd atl
Toronto trades 59 Cory Joseph $7,400,000 $8,000,000(to) 66 Jabari Parker $6,782,392 $8,851,021 (qo) 53 Ron Baker $969,190 $1,010,990 $1,824,837
works under 25% rule, im on my phone rn so its hard to do the totals. But I accept, this trade hurts me so much. Kuzma is my top 5 favorite player in the nba rn lol but Parker has a higher floor. Okafor has shown that he cant play in the nba. The sixers declined his TO and will most likely cut him. To me this was a Kuzma for Parker swap and if Parker can stay healthy then I feel pretty good about it :)

I accept. A lot of thought into this trade here.
First important context: Last year I traded what became pick 3 for Parker and a pick (Lauri). Lauri looks like a stud, and for me, the gap between him and who I would have taken at three is not huge. Both guys are potential all-stars, and I think Lauri has a really, really bright future.
There's a couple reasons I want to deal Parker. Obviously his injury history is a factor. Last year he came back strong, but he got hurt again. There's a chance he becomes a guy who would be great but can't stay on the floor. So, I want to mitigate the risk of his value completely tanking when he gets back. I hope he comes back strong and proves me wrong for trading him, but there's no way to tell.
The second reason I want to move Parker is if he does come back as strong as ever, he's going to demand a max level contract in RFA. Even though he might be worth it, and RFA is pretty nice because I could sign UFAs first, I'm not ready to market Toronto as a free agent destination this summer. So, I'd end up maxing out my payroll on a core of Parker, Brogdon, Lauri, Thon and co. Frankly, that's not strong enough to make this rebuild worth it. With this trade, I'm keeping my cap space open for longer. In my ideal world, the guys I already have, along with Kuzma and Okafor, develop well, and I add a couple more star potential prospects over the next two drafts.
Also, if Parker comes back as good as he used to be, he has potential to make me lose the tankings. And with my pick top three protected, the stakes are high. I know you shouldn't sell low, but at the same time, sometimes you have to make a judgement call about losing value overtime. This is a compromise for me, sell him while he's retaining value, and before he losses it all.
We all know Kuzma is a stud. I think he's going to become a starter by the end of the year, and long-term he'll be a really important player for LAL at the very least. In a couple years, he could be rated as high as Jabari is right now. I know Okafor's value has never been lower, but I think he can be a good player still. Specifically, I see him getting bought out this year, and going to a place like CHI, BOS, or BKN, where there is a hole at the 5. He'll probably never be a good defender, but the guy has great post moves and there's no reason he can't become an Enes Kanter or Al Jefferson before he was bad. The guy is in shape for the first time in his career, and he averaged 17.5 his rookie year. He's 21 years old. It's buying low, he's still got potential. He's a bad defender, but Lauri is actually good at defense, Thon should become a defender, and people think Vonleh is bad but he's about to breakout, and can play defense. I have guys who can complement him.
Additionally, CoJo is a little too good for how bad I want to be this year.
I accept.

Chicago cannot use Jabari since he is out for the whole season? Or maybe he will be available by Playoffs.
Obviously Chicago wins this trade. I think it is quite fair yo so I vote yes.

Just saw this trade, btw. Very interesting. I also made an offer for Parker and would've taken it 100/100 over this deal, but I won't fault a guy for seeing value in Okafor and Kuzma.
Toronto is losing by a lot, though. Normally a trade like this wouldn't raise eyebrows because none of the players are particularly good, but in this case we can all agree that Jabari is by far Toronto's best player. Which makes me hesitate to accept this deal.
But just hesitate, accept.

ehh, Jabari might have to deal with injuries the rest of his career and Okafor/Kuzma may not develop into All-Stars... but Jabari could bounce back like Embiid and be a star while Kuzma or Okafor could become All-Stars too, I doubt that both teams will benefit from this trade but it's not super lopsided,Personally I like Jabari more than Okafor and Kuzma so I wouldn't do this trade but TO wants to tank so I accept!
