New York Knicks trade
Courtney Lee 9,000,000 - 9,000,000 2018 SEA 1st 2018 MIL 2nd
New York Knicks New Salary = $84,804134
Houston Rockets trade
2019 HOU 1st 2021 HOU 1st
Houston Rockets New Salary = $84,636,507
I accept for obvious reasons, I need players especially a SF, plus Beverly becomes injured (out for the whole season hahaha). I currently don't have a decent SF in my team.

I accept.
My rotation is already running deep at 10 guys, so Lee is expendable, as well as replaceable. Manu can take his starting spot.
I also just needed to offload some assets. Not to go into detail, but my offseason plan looks like me having over 15 players, including the 3 draft picks. I don't want to draft a 2nd rounder only to never actually sign him. Wasted asset. I'll also be sailing over the cap, and will need ways to add contracts in the future. So, trading to 2018 picks makes sure they're not wasted this offseason, and gets better future picks when I can only add contracts via the MLE, min exception, and picks.

Lee is a valuable rotation piece, especially in a league wanting for wings. He shoots over 40% from 3. Good PER of 15.3, BPM of 3.3 is great. His RPM ranks 16th among SGs, so easily starter quality. That's valuable.
The SEA pick will probably be 30, but the MIL 2nd will also be in the 30s, so not too shabby. Meanwhile HOU should have prime Kyrie and Whiteside, along with another max player this offseason, as their core. That's not going to be a bad team. So, say, two future picks in the 20s for two picks in the 30s this year plus a starter. I think this is a fair trade.

2017-18 preseason =/= 2018-19 and 2020-21 regular seasons. Especially when he was starting 3 PGs and 2 Cs. Kyrie is a 25 y.o. all-star now. By the aging curve he'll be better in those future years. Whiteside shouldn't have lost a step. The roster will, almost trivially, be more balanced in it's construction. Plus they'll have max space to add another star wing.

Lee is quite impressive in his off-season performance in this league. In addition, in real-life he is averaging around 13 ppg. I have cap space and Lee's price is not that bad. Better to have Courtney than have my remaining cap be unused.
From the start, I made it clear that I'm willing to trade my draft pocks, none really approached me with an okay deal except for NY. Those 2018 draft picks can also help me get more players.

I'm gonna reject this one... With HOU underperforming in the sims, seems too risky to ditch two firsts for a guy who only moves the needle a tiny bit for me

Reject, this just reminds me of the Bos/Bkn trade back in 2013. Lee isn't worth two 1sts, alot could go wrong for the Rockets in a few seasons plus Lee does not make them better than Seattle whatsoever...
