===============
After almost 22 hours, The Minnesota Timberwolves have determined they simply cannot refuse this kind of deal. We may have acquired one year-rentals in Kieff and Carroll and lost three potential stars (Smart, McDermott, Len), but we gained the services of Chris Paul. We look forward to coming up with deals for both Markieff Morriss and Demarre Carroll this off season.
Being a small market team, our aim is to ensure we keep winning games so as to not lose our key players once they hit free agency.

My bad, Milt. I said you could post the trade but forgot the Trailblazers were already involved in another trade! I'm going to lock this trade until that other trade is processed :)

I think the timberwolves after trade payroll should be $69,483,796

If this is correct then the salary violates the 125% rule as Minnesota is ending up over the cap and not sending out enough salary.

You might wanna check my math though to be sure. Did it real quick on my phone so I might've had a case of fat fingers

Yeah, Colin added the salary received in the trade to the "Before Trade" Salary, but didn't account for the salary traded away. The salaries are both presented correctly in the original post.

My fault guys. This is why we shouldn't do things on our phones at work :D

I am declining to continue this trade as-is. I don't want to lose Paul for three players who have yet to prove themselves consistently as healthy and strong starters.

I didn't really like this trade, anyway. CP3 is worth any two of those prospects and the 1st by himself. From there it turns into one decent prospect and a 2nd rounder for the better Morris twin and a really good 3-and-D wing in his prime. Really not an even trade in any way.
For the record, Markieff Morris signed his contract extension a week after Bledsoe in September of the 14-15 season, so his 2015-18 salary should be a four year deal worth $32M: '15- $8,000,000; '16- $7,400,000; '17- $8,000,000; '18- $8,600,000. His contract is wrong on our roster page, and that "expiring" contract contributes to making this deal seem a lot less lopsided than it is.

All the contracts were grandfathered in once the season started. Even if incorrect. I told everyone to check their guys contracts for accuracy!

If I remember correctly, Duffman wasn't really around at the time. It's possible he never even saw the messages saying to check the contracts and make sure they were correct. Not saying that's an excuse, I guess he does have to deal with the fact he didn't catch it and get it fixed, but I can't imagine not noticing the contract discrepancy for one of my best players if I had known I were supposed to look.
