Current Rating: 58 He's been great. 24.7 PER is the 13th best in the league. 2.1 BPM is good. 0.90 RPM ranks 24th among PFs, which is probably about where I put him: a low tier starter caliber player. His TS% is great: .652. In fact, his TS% has been great his entire career. He's also got a get BLK%.

A guy taking 6 shots a game is going to have a high fg% and efg... as much as advanced stats are an indicator of ones performance, they can also be very misleading without context. Kanter ranks top 15 in per is no where near a top 15 player...

Of course the advanced stats don't tell the whole story. But they do indicate he's playing better than his role. They'll likely go down as he scales up, but he point is he should be scaled up. In this case, I think the RPM rank is most accurate, while being the least favorable.
And his 6.7 shots per game isn't as little as you make it out to be. On average, that's the 7th man on a roster.
PER is a bad stat. We all know that, and should be able to control for it's flaws. But it's some evidence for a positive update in a bayesian sense.
