SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Utah Jazz fans couldn't believe their eyes when shopping in the Team Store this week! Fans came across 40% off jerseys of their favorite players, but once they learned why, their excitement soon changed to sorrow. The Utah Jazz announced trades this week involving many fan favorites. Longtime starting point guard Ricky Rubio, along with Patty Mills, Marvin Williams, CJ Miles, and Willy Hernangomez have been given new homes around the league. Meanwhile, the Jazz welcome Elfrid Payton, Cory Joseph, Jonas Jerebko, and Markieff Morris to the team. Utah Jazz General Manager, DJ Jazzy Jeff, was available for comment. " Obviously, it was difficult to move on from these guys. They were invaluable to our success in the playoffs last season, and really embraced our culture and team-first mentality throughout their whole tenure here in Utah. We had an opportunity to make some trades that improve our cap flexibility for the future, while also allowing us to continue to compete for a playoff spot this season. I have full faith in our veterans, our young guys, and the newcomers to step up and fill the holes left by these fine whippersnappers." The Jazz go into this week with a record of 29-27, good enough for the 8th seed in the West. They look to hold onto a playoff spot down the stretch, sporting one of the most talented rosters in the league. With Paul "Playoff P" George and Brandon Ingram leading the team on the court, DJ Jazzy Jeff's team is capable of making noise in the playoffs once again.
