TOR sends

I'll edit this to proper format later tonight--just wanted to get in the system before CHA clinches. More to come.

I don't think him and Brian actually talked. :D Brian probably just responded to WWW's shout which makes me wonder why he is so desperate to get rid of Papa. Maybe, he wants to improve his chances of winning certain contest? :o

I know this will literally be pick 29 or 30 but I'm not very interested in re-signing Hood so I'm glad to find a deal for him before the deadline.

So, the trade came from him reading the trade block or there was an actual negotiation. Just curious. :D

It is non of those, lol. I have been in here for longer to know the value of 1sts. When people told you that you were trading 1sts for cheap is because there was probably a better market for them.

At the same time, I suspect he's valuing pick 30 pretty appropriately... just while also overvaluing Hood. Pick 30 plus a player who is functionally equivalent to an early 2nd in value probably shouldn't be reasonable value for a veteran wing with solid scoring potential, but Hood has been trash ever since his "go-to scorer" job started slipping away to Mitchell.

It just seems like wvery time i say something or make a trade their you are to slander it some how. Ok, I am sorry. Wont happen again. About the trade though, like Steve said Hood might be overrated at this point and he is a free agent next off-season so you never what will happen with him. He is restricted so WWW could match any offer but it is understandable if he would rather just replace him with a late 1st round pick.

Accept, pretty even trade imo. But I'm going to side with the CHA side of things here, just because he'll have choice with a draft pick. I don't like Hood much but it's definitely within the realm of possibility that he eventually settles into a nice role somewhere.

I accept this trade because I'm looking to become more competitive next year. I've got a decent stock of good young guys (Kuz, Napier, Lauri, Brooks, LeVert) who I think may start to come into their own next year. But, besides hoping for a good top draft pick selection, I'll also need more guys with definite resumes to supplement the burgeoning stars/starters on my roster. Hood is a good player--I don't think he's incredible but he's a capable tertiary scoring option who I think will have a long career. I also think that I benefit from his stock being down right now--not only am I sending essentially just a pick that is statistically unlikely to yield an impact player, but I think I have a chance to lock him down on a reasonable contract--I don't expect his FA market to be too robust.
Additionally I have two more picks in this range, so losing one of the three to get a guy who I know can be a passable starter and is only 25 is a smart move for beginning to turn out of the bottom end of my rebuild.
