Charlotte Hornets Trade: 71 Jimmy Butler $21,000,000 $22,750,000 $24,500,000
Total: $21,000,000 Orlando Magic Trade:69 C.J. McCollum $24,750,000 $27,225,000 $29,700,000 $32,175,000 $34,650,000 57 Jerami Grant $2,200,000 $2,200,000 $2,200,000
Total: $26,950,000 We have the cap space to take the additional salary on. I'm not actually sure Stuff The Magic Dragon is accepting this, but he offered it to me yesterday and I have about an hour left to trade so I figured I would go ahead and post it. I know I am giving up the better player here, but I get a few years younger and and get a guy locked up for a long time so I won't have to worry about the PO. We may reevaluate this summer, but I feel like this is a decent move to make while I can.

125% of $21m is $26.25m, which means this trade is invalid

I actually like it more for Charlotte tho because McCollum is younger and locked up for longer. Butler is good on D but not nearly the 3 point shooter CJ is

I accept this trade. I've seen enough of CJ to know he can't be the leader Jimmy is. I'll take Jimmy's B and Dp over CJ's 3. a one-year rental if Jimmy declines that PO but a little more cap flexibility (6 or 7M) this coming offseason to improve my team. Jimmy will take us to the Playoffs next year!

Butler is only a year older than cj and a much superior 2 way player imo. Given the contracts it's close but I like Orlando's side more.
