Accept, no strong feelings about anyone at 40/41. Clearing some cap space may help me down the line.

Tor has 63 mil in cap space before trade, 50 after.
I accept. I have a new strategy for the draft this year--it's getting as many of the guys who I think are steals as possible. In the past I've just made my choices where they are, this year I'm more targeted. I know I'm going to have a slew of seconds, but I can have 4 roster spots open, and any of them who have good rookie seasons will be good trading pieces if I can't sign them. Don't love the Smith contract, but it expires at the end of 2021--and if I wait until the deadline to trade it, I can try to combine it with the McRae contract and other assets to land a talented guy on a large contract, which will be fine because I have players going into RFA that year, so that's when my massive cap spave will be diminished anyway.

Man, Scal, so many picks! I'm really mad! haha
Good job acquiring them, this price is certainly not cheap for you but you get guys you know you like right now, so OK.
Accept.

yeah, Toronto has a lot of cap and can surely accommodate JR, I'll accept this trade.

This one has a lot of layers, and I'm not sure I'd want to be on TOR's end of the deal (still kinda intrigued by Evans, JR's value is on the verge of "dumpster fire" status, and the 2nds probably won't be that good).
But I can acknowledge the benefits for both sides and it certainly doesn't tank the viability of either franchise. Accept.

That 3rd year in Jr's contract makes this terrible.

That 3rd year in Jr's contract makes this terrible. But, it lines up with McRae's contract. That gives me 21 mil expiring money in the 21 season. I think with all of my young assets, I'll be in a good position to use that dead money to acquire a maxed out player that someone wants to unload, maybe I can get them to add a first as well. By then my time line will be sped up, and using those invaluable assets to acquire a strong rotation player will be a good move for me. Type of contracts I'm thinking are those like KCP, Horford, Conley, ect. Not those players specifically, but more of those contracts will be out there when those contracts are expiring.

Accept, don't love Toronto's side but he has so much cap space to work with it's not close to franchise ruining.

I keep hearing the cap space argument but I don't think it really applies if you are taking a 3 years contract with the 3rd year being at $14,6M. :D I mean, we don't really know how Raptors' salaries will look like in 2 years from now.
I probably would accept though but this is terrible for me because I think I would still prefer this for Memphis if JR had 2 years left instead of 3.
