Boston Celtics Trade: F 62 James Johnson $2,500,000 $2,500,000 C 49 Glen Davis $1,000,000 GF 47 Ronnie Brewer $800,000 1st 2015 Boston 2nd 2015 Boston $4,300,000
for
Chicago Bulls Trade: SG 59 Dante Exum $3,615,000 $3,777,720 $3,940,320 $4,992,385 $6,619,903 C 59 Tyler Zeller $1,703,760 $2,616,975 $3,695,168 1st 2015 LA Clippers 1st 2015 Toronto $5,318,760
$4,300,000 x 1.25 = $5,375,000 $5,318,760 < $5,375,000
I accept this trade. I get two young prospects and two late round 1st rounders in the upcoming rookie draft. This helps me build youthful depth within my team. I do have to give up the better pick for that rookie round, though. James Johnson has proven that he can be productive off the bench, so I know he can probably put up good numbers given the chance to start and he was nearing his chance to start for the Celtics. With this trade, I get the center for the Celtics. With Exum's ACL tear and not very productive rookie season, he is still a gamble at this point.

I accept, even though i trade 2 2015 1sts(they will most likely be 23-30) i get a lottery pick in return.davis and brewer will no be on the team next season so that can give me more cap space to resign harris.

This trade makes no sense for Paul. Sure, Exum's knee injury is scary, Tyler Zeller at 25 is far from the best prospect in the world, and both of those picks are late 1st. But the 2015 draft class was actually quite deep, and the chances of pulling at least one decent prospect with two late picks are not terrible. In return, you get a bunch of nobodies and a lottery pick likely to fall in the 10-14 range. So you're trading 3-4 prospects for 1+scraps, with virtually no other benefits (you don't really need any extra cap space to sign Tobias Harris and Wes Matthews).
Someone out there would still pay a good price to have Exum on contract for 5 years. I don't see the benefit here.

Yeah, I think this is worse for Boston. Thats like pick 27 and 29 and some trash for a lottery pick. I wouldn't trade the 12th pick of the draft for TYLER Zeller and 27 and 29 :P
I guess it all depends on how much you value exum. He has the value of a tyler ennis to me at this point, and thats being generous.

I know there are busts in the draft. Some players dont transition from college to the pros and some international players dont transition from overseas to the NBA. However, I dont feel like Exum is one of them. The Jazz are a growing team. Let Exum's knee heal and he will grow with them to be their starting PG.

Nothing in this deal for you makes what you're paying seem worth it to me, but that's just my opinion. If you weren't rebuilding I could understand you trading Exum for whatever you could find, and agree that your other three assets are of very questionable value, but when you've got a year or two to wait out Exum's recovery I think you're losing a lot more here than you're gaining.

Exum is gonna be good, but i feel like i can draft someone who can be just as good if not better

My team is in the middle of the pack I could drop down to a top 5 pick or maybe climb into the playoffs. Right now, reason why Im trying to change my fortune, my money is on the pick.

not sure if its rejectable since we have no idea where boston's picks will end up. it's not like those two picks will be any good, and exum is trash imo. accept.
