The Seattle Supersonics accept this trade. I give up my young Russell Westbrook for a proven young scorer in this league. We still want to try and win this season

For my last vote for the foreseeable future, I accept!
While it looks a bit imbalanced, I'm pretty sure it is consensus opinion among scouts that Lavine could be much better than kemba, he certainly has the potential, and kemba has kind of hit his ceiling as a high usage low efficiency player. Kemba isn't the 2nd ball handler on a championship team, and he needs the ball in his hands to fit his playstyle so its a deadly combination to an IRL team trying to compete, and that will keep his rating down here in D720.

I think it's crazy we're having a full-length discussion about risking your future for short term success in the other trade thread and you're offering Lavine/Zeller for Kemba over here.
Accept.

Memphis have 2 starting PG so trading Kemba is ok with them.. Having Zeller and Lavine could help them in the future..
This is actually a good move for the Seattle because they don't have BR of Conley so he may be gone by 2016/17 season so having Kemba as a backup PG will be good for their future..
I accept

Accept. i dont get what you mean? all pieces involved here have equally promising long term value imo. most would even agree wtih me that lavine has a higher ceiling than kemba. and most importantly all players involved have BR.

I think Kemba is a middling/below average point guard that only has more value to you right now because the number next to his name is higher. Lavine will almost certainly be better, and trading Zeller away in that same trade just makes me think even more so that you're losing this trade long term. You're potentially making it more difficult to re-sign your stars in the future by adding an unnecessary 12M contract from Kemba when within the next few years Lavine has a chance to be better/comparable and cheaper, and on top of all that, Kemba plays a position that you don't have any strong need for.
And all that to help your case as a contender when you're currently the 7th seed and not very likely to make a serious splash in this postseason. Seems like a worse and far more pointless risk here than Boston's.

i drastically improve my chances not only this year but next year since kemba does have a higher rating (ratings will take a while to catch up even if lavine puts on a show next year) while giving up two players who were getting minimal playing time.
also if you think im not likely to make a splash this post season, this makes a better case for boston's trade making less sense since boston is nowhere near making the playoffs

Again, as if my trade to Boston doesn't help them into next season at all? Pretty ridiculous.
You either judge long term value as more inportant, in which case this trade is dumb for you, or you value short term success as more important, in which case I don't know why you'd bother fighting so hard against one of the only trades that improves Boston enough for them to hope to make the post season. The third option is that you look at a balance of the two and realize that an improvement in the short term can equalize a loss in the long term, which is the reason why I accepted this.

i like kemba, i think he's really good :p I certainly don't hate him, but he's exactly like Billy said: a high volume, very inefficient, ball-dominant scorer that appears to have already reached his peak. Not exactly the guy I'm in love with here, but he's certainly not worth nothing.

i personally dont agree with that and think he can be better, and i think its premature to say we've seen everything out of kemba.

We've seen 3 straight seasons of 17 points and 6 or less assists per game, and 3 out of his 4 years in the league he's shot less than 40% from the field, and only a barely-acceptable 33.3% from 3pt territory in one of those 4 seasons. Usg% has stayed strong at right around 25% every year. He doesn't show signs of regressing, but he also doesn't appear to be trending upward in nearly any meaningful statistics either.

I think LaVine is a good prospect, although it's a pretty big bet on him turning out decent. Seems to be a present talent for higher ceiling swap. And while I think Seattle might wind up "losing" this trade down the road, its not too uneven. I'll accept.

I enjoy reading these conversations- it makes me learn more how people analyze trade offers.
BK knows this: I attempted to trade john wall for chump change twice - because I didnt know who john wall was. Lol
