Radically different things, too. Wall <<<< Curry; My team’s starters weren’t even that good, let alone the depth; different league with far less talent among contenders; I was facing a team with three top 5 players and decent depth, arguably better than any team left in the playoffs right now... etc., etc., etc. I was desperate for a solution that might give me a shot against SEA and it ended up allowing me to push that series to 7 by leveraging my best player against John’s weak link (depth). This one makes no sense, because GSW is maybe the most talented team in the field, the “back up” PG is better than Rodney Stuckey by about three football fields worth of “>” signs, and Lou already provides a huge spark off the bench whereas my team just didn’t have that at all.

I don't know. Like I understand Curry is Curry but Wall's stock was pretty high back then. The season before he even led the Pistons to the title.
Also, didn't you win at least 1 game with that lineup?, ha

Also, didn't you win at least 1 game with that lineup?, ha Even at that time, Wall’s peak was about 70-80% of Curry now... the Piston’s title is still pretty much an anomaly anyway, but regardless, they didn’t have to face that big 3 Seattle team and those Pistons teams were arguably better equipped to handle star wings... Either way, yes I won a game with that line up... I did it before Game 3 and won 2 blowouts, then we lost on the road and played a pretty close Game 6 at home but couldn’t quite take it to 7.

That was before the big 3 I think. I mean, there was a big but I think it was Lebron-Lowry-Favors, ha. The big 3 came just after Sonics' 1st title.

Word... you’re right, it just feels like that series happened a lot more recently than it did. haha. Still, LeBron/Lowry/Favors with Tony Allen around 15/16 was a much better squad than Wall/Powell/Middleton/Draymond/Monroe. lol

If you were still running NOP you’d be in a pretty solid situation this offseason. remember when me trading john wall looked dumb My response to that trade: Billy is winning this trade to a mind-boggling degree. Lavine might be injury prone, but he's primed to be the Bulls go-to guy through a rebuild and I can't fathom him falling short of a 68 rating at some point in the relatively-near future. That combined with Carmelo, who has a few more years at or above that level gives Billy two great starters (possibly one future star), a soon-to-be elite wing defender, and a decent prospect for the price of one star and a very mediocre fringe starter. I wouldn't necessarily say I feel like this trade puts Memphis into dangerous territory for becoming non-viable, since they'll have Blake and Wall left on the team, but depending on the outcome of their 17-18 season, it could be realistic to see one or both of them move in free agency and things start to look much much worse. Very tempted to reject but I'll wait for other view points first.

I was fully on board with Lavine and fully off the Wall-train. In retrospect it was pretty damn balanced considering Allen/RHJ are both decent starters, Lavine isn’t quite elite (impact wise, his stats are awesome), and Melo is basically out of the league.
