Why would Cleveland do this? Free up cap space for 2019 off-season FA.

The way it's posted looks like dead money equal to Hoods contract for Hood and a 1st?

Though Cleveland should've explored sending Gay instead of Hood with that CLE 1st, it'll be tough to move that contract with the assets remaining not including the gains from a potential Holiday trade.

Bro, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but you're always posting in these threads before the trade people can. You did it with the MIA trade too, so you're gonna have to take a break from the TC for a bit, I'll replace you. I love you but the rules are the rules.

I’m not sure how this trade could realistically be viewed as rejectable. I would never personally embark on the quest Kobe’s on, and furthermore would most likely never trade my 1st for such meager salary savings when there is still more salary to be shed to achieve his target, but the first is almost definitely a low first regardless and Rodney Hood is super duper meh AF. Nothing franchise ruining here and we accept worse trades than this during FA literally every year.
Not that it probably matters, but accept.

What’s the rule on trading salary. Isn’t he trading for last years dead money?

What’s the rule on trading salary. Isn’t he trading for last years dead money? Yeah, he is trading for last year’s dead money. But this was accepted by both sides before the 20th when the rosters rolled over, so that’s fine.

But if this is a trade happening in the 2018-19 season, then CLE can't trade their 2020 1st rd pick due to the Stepien Rule. billy ?

LAC is sending 2019 contracts while CLE is sending a 2020 contract lmao. Please fix it up next time, the presentation is absurd and a valid ground for a veto if I'm to decide, but I'm not. processed
