1. James Harden(PHI)
28.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 11.8 apg, 0.3 bpg, 1.4 spg
There is no argument about this one. James Harden is having a historic year on a historic team. Harden leads the league in assists as well as nearly all the advanced categories. All these stats alone are more than enough to warrant the MVP. It also helps Scott Pilgrim and the 6ers are on pace to break the all time record for wins.
2. Giannis Antetokounpo(CLE)
28.5 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 6.9 apg, 2.2 bpg, 1.2 spg
Giannis is having a brilliant year as he and Nino Brown find themselves 4th in the East. He is top 3 in scoring as well as top 5 in blocks and top 10 in rebounds. Giannis might be having the best all around season in the league! He may be able to catch harden if the Cavs can propel themselves to a top 2 seed and Philly cools down. No matter what happens, Giannis will be All-NBA 1st team easily as he tries to win his 1st NBA title.
3. Karl-Anthony Towns(CHI)
25.2 ppg, 14.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.9 bpg, 1.0 spg
Nobody expected the Bulls to be where they are right now. They looked like a solid young team who was hoping to make the playoffs. KAT quickily changed that narative. The Bulls are 2nd in the East and have the 2nd best record in the whole NBA. Towns is 7th in the league in scoring and leads the league in rebounding! The 6ers are the heavy favorites but Towns looks ready for the challenge. If he keeps up this level of play, the Bulls may be able to make history.
4. Luka Doncic(DAL)
29.0 ppg, 10.9 apg, 10.7 rpg, 0.4 bpg, 1.6 spg
Something that has been going under the radar this season in D720 is the fact that Luka Doncic is averaging a TRIPLE DOUBLE!! That would be only the 3rd time in NBA history. If Lukas team was better than the 7th seed in the West, he would probably be 1st on this list. The West is wide open for Dallas though. They are only 6 games back of the 1 seed. With Zion coming back and master gm Yeezy acquiring Draymond Green, the Mavs are looking to win the West.
5. Lebron James(ATL)
24.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 8.7 apg, 0.7 spg, 0.7 bpg
The Atlanta Hawks have been without a gm all season and they find themselves 6th in the East. Lebron is the heart and sole of this team. He leads the team is Points and assists and has been winning games despite Oladipos injury. Hopefully new gm John Stockton can elevate Lebron and the Hawks to a higher level. This team is one of the most talented in the league and can easily compete for the title.
