Boston Celtics agree. We get Jrue Holiday a very talented two way players, one of the better guard defenders. We also get an aging All-Star.

You just did the opposite of this trade like a month ago haha ?!?!
Can we get reasoning on why you're switching strategies Red? I guess it's not franchise ruining so whatever. You see this as a buy low compared to what you gave up for Jrue before?
Penny lost LMA so he's trying to retool... although I'd keep Jrue and see how the playoffs go. Just thinking out loud, the player agents are... us. So when we see you give up on a playoff run, it's not like we'll forget, why would players want to go play for HOU now? Like if I'm Kemba or Vuce or Gay, I'm pissed to see Jrue go right now.

Like if I'm Kemba or Vuce or Gay, I'm pissed to see Jrue go right now. Kemba and Vucecic are not good examples though. They are locked down for 4 more seasons and they will get well rewarded for that matter so they probably would not care much, lololol.
By the way, it would be ideal if the trade post had the 125% rule check. Trade is pretty obviously in that sense but it never hurts having the actual math. Trying to be consistent after I commented on the Por-Mil trade, lol.

love this for houston. kinda odd that they are low key just doing a swap back of jrue and sexton but i dont hate it. adding monk in this deal is nice. not sure why red does it tho

love this for Houston, everyone on d720 seems to underrate Sexton which was evident in the other BOS-HOU trade thread. People don't realise he's quietly averaging 20/3/3 at 21 years of age. definitely would've done a few trade offers for him, if I was able to trade

Well I'll trust Scott and PP's evaluation of Monk and Sexton; and take Kongs word that Kemba/Vuce are happy getting paid and this isn't as big a deal to them as I thought.
Still not sure why Red does it but it's a fair trade so accept

I mean, I do agree though reversing a trade for the most part requires both GM to give more reasoning. You don't want to see GMs sending things back and forth just because.

He’s still not a bet positive on the court yet but he’s someone I’d buy for sure. Jrue and LMA are solid but nobody’s taking Philly anytime soon so might as well retool

The obvious just because is LMA had surgery + we have Teague on our roster now + better positioning for cap next year and we had Sexton before and liked him for or future plans and also useful off the bench for scoring in mean time.

yes but Celtics need to give more reasoning because I could be wrong but it feels to me like they are doing this because people said Holiday was getting undervalued in the other trade except now they are saying the opposite. Boston Trades:Jrue Holiday $25,200,000 $25,471,233 $25,742,466Anzejs Pasecniks $1,316,200 $1,562,200 $1,825,600 $3,192,974 $4,668,129Rashad Vaughn $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $26,516,200 Houston Trades:Cody Zeller $7,000,000 $7,000,000 Jamal Crawford $5,550,000 $6,000,000 Brandon Knight $5,499,991 $5,806,533 Collin Sexton $3,438,000 $3,601,500 $4,591,913 $6,254,185$21,487,991 $21,487,991 x 125% = $26,859,988.8 And Celtics reason for doing the trade was: I accept. Collin Sexton can come in and play with the other young guys. I get three good depth players as well. Zeller can possibly slide into in as a starting center, allow it Horford to move to his natural power forward spot. Knight and Crawford will provide depth at the guard spots. Jrue gets to go to a team challenging for a home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Sexton fits my timeline better while Holiday fits Houston’s timeline better. And I agree with what he said because he has his picks next season and the pick in the following year is gone so it wasn't a bad idea to take a step back next season while developing Sexton.
But now he is doing exactly the opposite. And I am not saying it is bad but it should require for him to explain what happened when nothing really happened in real life except for Aldridge getting injured which didn't happen to his team. If you combine both trades, what you get is: Celtics send: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist $18,000,000 $18,000,000 Isaiah Thomas $9,675,000 Bryn Forbes $7,000,000 $7,000,000 Malik Monk $3,719,700 $4,738,898 (TO) $6,421,207 (QO)
Anzejs Pasecniks $1,316,200 $1,562,200 $1,825,600 (TO) $3,192,974 (TO) $4,668,129 (QO) Rashad Vaughn (Dead contract) $1,000,000 $1,000,000 Rockets send: LaMarcus Aldridge $21,737,500 $20,107,188 $18,599,148 (TO) Cody Zeller $7,000,000 $7,000,000 Brandon Knight $5,499,991 $5,806,533 (PO)
Cristiano Felicio $2,020,000 $1,030,000
so between the 2 trades Celtics are basically doing the opposite of their original reasoning by moving Monk.

If its not a bad trade and reasonings aren't even required anymore why are we demanding a reason from Celtics besides you want to stir up the trade and gms... The point is to vote if its franchise ruining, not if the gm changes his mind or whether you like his strategy or not and if you look at it I changed my mind too so it makes sense that we redo the trade and once again its not a bad trade and it was accepted before or and its not franchise ruining and no boston doesnt have to give a reasoning why they reversed neither do I. I just automatically do because I know you guys are gonna question me anyway.

To be fair there is a good reason to ask for reasoning when reversing a trade. So this doesn't seem like the case but people could be sending contract back and forth just to escalate salaries.

A fair, non franchise ruining trade should pass.
Just don't be surprised if you constantly make moves that make no sense and are not explained leading to consequences in Free Agent decision making...

Can’t fully wrap my head around this for some reason. I think part of it is that I can’t understand what Boston’s plan is. Having Aldridge with a TO in the final year makes it more reasonable in the case that he runs out of steam. Sexton has been great and is on a really solid contract so it’s confusing to me why he would be moved here. I’m going to abstain.

I accept.
Swaping guards is fine, I'd personally keep Holiday, but it's fine.
Houston gets some depth, maybe that played a factor?
I don't have many other thoughts about this but its fair enough, so yeah, accept.
