Atlanta Trades: FC 61 Kosta Koufos $3,000,000 $3,000,000
Boston Trades: SF 47 Solomon Hill $1,302,840 $1,358,880 $2,306,019 $3,355,258 SG 51 Tim Hardaway Jr. $1,250,640 $1,304,520 $2,281,605 $3,335,707 $2,553,480
I accept this trade. I am looking at the big picture on this trade. I know there is potential in these two guys, but having that $2.5 mil off my books will help me out even more.

Is this legal? Koufos is expiring, right? I used to think you could trade expirings during the draft but recently it was shown to me that you cannot.

Aww shit, something I think Allan Houston said? I thought it was weird too, glad it's not the rule, just checking.

He referenced the rule under sign and trades, it says that you cannot trade expiring players.

I sure hope this works. If it does it allows me to offer a max "Derrick Rose" qualified offer to a free agent. Hopefully someone will want to come play with Westbrook.

Really? In Trading Regulations it says:
Emphasis mine. And it's really weird to me if you can still trade expirings. That's very much unlike the NBA. From cbafaq:

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I don't know if the D Rose rule applies to anyone this offseason. I thought it was just for players coming off their rookie contract, with multiple all nba selections or an MVP. Not sure anyone fits thst criteria, unless FMVP counts.

Okay. Allan Houston Is right about trading expirings. As far as the Derrick Rose rule it only applies to people coming off their rookie contract allowing them to earn 30% instead of the 25% they would have been maxed out by their years of experience. Players going for their 3rd contract will already be at 30% because they have 5-9 years of experience.

billy what are the exact qualifications for it? Is it MVP or two all nba selections? That's what I thought but I'm uncertain. And going forward, are we counting D720 awards or irl awards? Or both?

I think it'd be best if we just count IRL awards, while less fun, it also removes a lot of abuse potential and almost guaranteed bitching from 7-8 GMs "why didnt MY player make the ALL-NBA team" As for the derrick rose rule: - Named to the All-NBA First, Second or Third team at least twice - Voted as a starter in the All-Star game at least twice - Named the NBA Most Valuable Player at least once

Though if people really like the idea of using the 720 awards for the rule, we could vote in it. I don't really care.

You want Milwaukee to dominate the foreseeable future? Because if they get AD with the mini-Max that's what's gonna happen.

While we're talking about the trading expirings thing though, I think we should change this rule for next year. Not sure why we should stop cap dumps, these trades happen in real life, don't they?

Those trades do not happen in real life during the offseason. My previous comment quoted the relevant section from cbafaq
