So far It's the Orlando Magic that have a chance to get Towns or Okafur Hehe, yes I've identified the orlando magic and the new orleans pelicans as the two worst teams so far in my opinion.

I'll probably be passing out picks like candy/drugs, so tankers hit me up with them trade offers, yo.
Honestly, I think the Thunder are pretty solid so far, but I'll have to make some moves before I feel like I could really be in contention. If I would have known I'd be 6 rounds in without any great players on long term contracts, I would have been a lot more aggressive going after the highest possible ratings regardless of contract at the turn of the first two rounds so I had a little more talent at the top. But either way I should be pretty deep if I keep up the draft strategy I've been using since then, and that should make me competitive at the very least, so I'm just gonna stick with it.
Plus with all these short contracts, I'm a guaranteed lock to be the guy poaching FAs come 2016-17. Suck it bitches.

Team Composition, playing time, market size, contract length and value, and the players IRL "ego" all factor into where and when they sign with teams. Free Agency is the most confusing and fun part of the season here in d720! There will be many, many hurt feelings every offseason. Lots of people will probably quit over it too, lol

Haha, yeah that's fair. Wasn't ever something I planned on doing, it just kind of happened so I made a joke about it. But yeah, I'm not too worried about it either. I've got some decent young RFAs as a security blanket for my roster, and as long as I play my cards right with draft pick distribution, I should be in a great position to tank if I can't make some waves in FA.

You have a pretty good team, and can offer good teammates and chemistry. Your only problem is market size. Carmelo anthony and other ego maniacs would never sign with you -- Not that you would want them anyway!

Even though I didn't get my fav player(Paul George) I'm confident that my team will be a force this season.. With the back court combination of Lowry and Korver and the inside presence of Thad Young and Al Jefferson, the team will dominate in the paint and the 3pt line.. Jeff Green will be an X factor in this team and also the 6th man Danny Green

After the draft we will post a thread where we make playoff and standings predictions and whatnot... it will be very fun. If we can just get it moving faster!

Yeah Blake, your front court combo might not be the best right now, but it's already solid and only going to get better. Definitely a force to be reckoned with for the next few years/until you trade me Vucevic.

Playing time is based on the construction of your roster... Obviously a player wants to start and get time on the court. Ego is more loyalty probably. Has the player shown to go after the most money and biggest market (Carmelo)? Or has he gone to smaller markets to go after rings (lebron). We will see what kind of FA personality Kevin Durant has soon :)

Say your team has two solid PGs and you try to sign another solid PG, he'd see the playing time may not be there. If there is no help though, the guy may be like, "Damn nigguh, I ain't tryna play a full 48•82, plus them playoffs, ya heard".

I suspect ego will be subjective based on real life personality of the players and also essentially at the mercy of the player agent's interpretation of said personality. Playing time, on the other hand, is something each GM actually controls for their team. It comes into play in FA signings in situations such as: trying to sign a player at a position that you already have a starter - If the player already on your team is better or equivalent to the FA signing, they won't be guaranteed good playing time and will probably want to go somewhere that they'll get a starting role (or if the player involved is sixth man material or just a role player, they'll still want to make sure they'll get ample playing time in relation to their abilities and go somewhere that they can be sure to see the court.

Dammit, so that means I will get the short end of the stick come free agency because not alot of players would want to deal with heaps of snow?
I might be cursed to have a college basketball type roster in the years to come.

Do players still have a say once their contract expires if a team has their Bird Rights? I understand it as a player cannot entertain other offers because your team has plans in keeping you.

I understand it as a player cannot entertain other offers because your team has plans in keeping you. the only thing bird rights means is that a team can go over the salary cap to sign that player. However, losing a play you have bird rights on will be very rare. Youcan give them the most money, and if you didn't approach their agent very off puttingly or only sent the offer in at the last minute, you'll probably be able to re sign them. Unless your team is a dumpster fire or something.
