I accept As much as I like Brogdon this gives me the pieces that fit my timeline for my rebuild and I think these young players are going to be very good. I'm also hoping Lauri gets out of Chicago and gets a fresh start somewhere.

I accept. Throwing about half the farm at Brogdon here, which I feel alright about.
The plan is still to nail free agency, and while I'll have less money to spend now, I will at least have another all-star caliber guy to partner with SGA, which I think will significantly improve interest on my FA pitches. Besides that, Brogdon is a great backcourt partner for SGA-- and SGA/Brogdon/Haliburton/Maxey could legit be a top 3 guard rotation in the next couple of years.
Brogdon is a big injury risk, but I feel more comfortable investing in him knowing that I have Haliburton on the bench, who is starting level and a huge piece of our core.
Because KG included draft swap rights, this will probably be the only time that TOR wins the first pick outright, but I've also been burned enough times in the lottery to want to invest in the extra lottery balls this trade gives me. Will miss the guys I'm sending, as I believe in all of them as high quality players with upside, but frankly I have too many solid young guys and not enough star power. I don't mind overpaying a bit for Brogdon when considering how it'll help my FA pitches, AND that his contract being so nice will probably give me an extra year of avoiding the luxury tax after spending my money in FA.
WCS is strongly on the block

Not that smart to give that pick swap imo. Top of the draft is really strong this year and you would have had good chance to move up in lottery. Now it's basically sure that you get only second tier rookie + 4 decent but not great young players, and potentially give up a future superstar and Brogdon

Yeah I agree with Theo. With the swap option included there is a chance MIN gets shafted in the lottery which would result in them giving up the 2 best assets in Brogdon and the swap option

I see it as a gamble sure but right now I have the 9th best odds right now ant Toronto has the 4th. Lots of things could happen or absolutely nothing at all and I'm willing to gamble.
For all anyone knows Toronto could jump to 1 and me to 2 so the thought that I just get a second tier prospect only is kinda irrelevant as that's what I'll most likely get anyways. Sure there's risk and brogdons great but he's 28 going on 29 I don't think he's played more than 60 games a season and he just doesn't fit the timeline I'm trying to be on.
And cmon Theo you made me a god awful trade proposal trying to get my pick outright for straight garbage lol
If you think it's veto worthy than the committee can most certainly do that and that will be fine with me but I'm fine taking the risk and picking up a bunch of players with plenty of potential along with my first this year and continuing a rebuild.
And fyi I'm not a Cade guy, I know that's not the popular outlook with this draft class but there is a player I like much more and even if I get pick swamped I'm not going to fall much.
Anyhow just my opinion on the trade but I know leave it in the committee hands!

lol, me making an offer has nothing to do that I comment on this trade. I mean getting under luxury tax and opening additional max cap space for next FA is more valuable to some GM's than others, so I don't think my opening offer was that bad. Just not something for you
But this is exactly why I don't want to be in TC anymore. I want to be able to say my opinion on trades without having to get to the arguments of what trade is bad enough to be rejectable. I really don't care, I just think it's bad trade for you. Probably not rejectable anyways, so TC can vote what they want.
There is very little conversation in the league this year in comparison to past, so I think it's good if people comment at least in trade threads even if they are not in TC

I see your point Theo, and I agree it's a huge gamble on my part that I'm taking a huge risk with. I just really like the upside of the four prospects I'm getting back so I'm hoping Toronto moves to 1 and I move to 2 haha
