I may be the only GM worthy of judging "worst" trade since almost all of them are bad to me. LOL

Once 2 trades are selected, I think it would be nice for both GMs to describe their trade, explain why they think it is bad, what they learned from it and what they would do differently moving forward.
And maybe, the Jury could come up with a descriptions of both trades and explain if the trade was bad from the moment it was posted or became bad only after an x player exploded.
I reckon some members will have discrepancies of what defines a bad trade. Some might judge it based on what they thought about it at 1st while others will look at it based on what we know now. But that's what the Jury is for anyway.
Maybe, we should make this about last season trades for that matter and start the voting right away. Or allow both trades from this and last season. I am up for suggestions.
Also, I understand some people might get sort of offended by this contest but it is all for fun and you don't have to participate if you don't want to. In general, I would say there is nothing to feel ashamed about making a bad trade meaning that is all part of the learning experience.

Of course it is. So far it seems like the Jury will be PP, Mr "I hate every trade other than my own" Jobs and some mysterious guest or me.
And you may send your trade after playoffs begin. There will be an official notification when contest begins.

Yeah, you can either PM them to me to post "anonymously" or you can post them yourselves in this thread. Then we can just see what the consensus is, and if necessary have a runoff poll.

I will also submit this as my worst trade. Honestly I think it's game set and match.

I vote this turns into a thread on all of Scals bad trades

I vote this turns into a thread on all of Scals bad trades I've got more good trades than bad trades--I tend to do a good job if turning nothing into something decent (See: last year's draft trades and Dillon Brooks trade) but then make big time mistakes sometimes The lesson I've learned is not to pay high prices for buying low. Like with Vonleh--he'd been a spot starter for two years and hadn't produced a LOT but WAS developing, so I was figuring he'd become a real starter on a good playoff team... That didn't happen. While I'd obviously undo this trade, people who have completely given up on that dude are being shirt sighted--he did well on the bulls. Still think he can be Ed Davis with a decent jump shot. He might become a real player if he stays in CHI and that roster shifts. But hey, hopefully I just get the first pick and don't have to worry about it. Also, if ORL burns miserably next year, that'll put me in a good spot. Imo, my team even if I lose my pick is more viable than a lot of rebuilding teams. A trade sequence I really won imo was trading my first last year for what became Lauri and Kuz... I could have drafted Tatum but probably wouldn't, and even if I had having both of those guys might be more valuable to me rn. Drafting anyone else at 3 besides Mitchell (wouldn't have happened) would be less value than what I have from that trade.

Papagiannis was considered a solid prospect back then and Raptors are last in the league. Because of the no conveyance, Bucks most likely wont get anything from that trade. They got 35.8 odds of Raptors moving to 4th. www.tankathon.com/pick_oddsdynasty720.proboards.com/thread/4845/clippers-magicHonestly, I think the "Black Hole" Monroe LAC-ORL trade was worse than this. Stuff The Magic Dragon Monroe will probably be, he ain't declining that PO if he's earning that much, he can also provide the "Interior D" I need to push for the playoffs.

Plus, it was agreed on that other trade that it was not a good bet for Bucks based on the odds of Raptors making it to the top 3 and they weren't even sure if Raptors would finish last. Now, they know.
Papagiannis did turn out badly but Rapotrs also had a window of time that allowed them to trade Papagiannis for a 1st round pick from someone. In that thread, most people didn't like it for Bucks so I am positive that what I mentioned could have happened if Brian wanted it that way.
Also, does the Jayley Brown qualify for this? That was pretty bad. Thunder did not only get Brown but 2 2nds and now Kings have to decide if they want to pay Randle or not. I suppose it would make sense to give Kings a compensatory 2nd for the 2 2nds lost in that trade. x_x

ps, I am only mentioning Stuff's trade because I am sure he doesn't mind plus he will take the 2nd if he can :D . And Kings' GM went MIA a week after that trade with Thunder.

I'm fine with anyone nominating any trade. I think the team with the worst move can get the 2nds regardless of the nominator.

I think I traded kros Middleton for shumpert so I win, give me that 2nd There were other players involved in that trade... Plus Middleton was a few years away from really breaking out, and at the time Shump was still ACTUALLY a decent 3&D prospect (not just wrongly considered as much). Not that it was a great trade, just that it's one of those "looks a lot worse now than it actually was" trades.

The contest should really apply to trades made in the last year or so the way I pictured it. Lot of things can happen in 3 years.
