Rick Barry (eligible? he played before and after the merger)
wouldn't take him if I were you cuz we'll only consider post-merger stats Oh really? I didn't realize that. I just thought they had to have played after the merger and we were just considering the player, not specific years

My interpretation would be that if the player was still playing in high level multiple years after the merger, definitely his whole career stats would count. Like Barry was still putting up 23pts/5.5reb/5.5ast/2stl for few seasons after merger, although in his prime pre-merger he was even better. But even with post-merger stats only he would be a solid pick. But then someone who was a good player pre-merger, but played only few mediocre years after merger before retiring would be more on the grey area. In theory eligible and the whole career stats will be considered, but for voting that could be difficult to judge. Looking at the list of old legends I don't think there are many who are good enough to be picked that were still playing post merger, but their prime was before (Barry and Walt Frazier maybe). I think for the few cases we could count also the whole career stats. Let me know if someone has other ideas how to handle this? Yeezy You want to change back to Barry, or are you sticking with Wilkins?

I didn't pick Dr. J because I figured his ABA seasons didn't count.

I didn't pick Dr. J because I figured his ABA seasons didn't count. Sorry my bad. Should have made the definition more clear from the start. Although Dr.J was amazing in ABA, he was also NBA MVP in 1980-81, 7-time All-NBA and 11-time All-Star also after the merger

Zeke == Isiah Thomas =/= Dikembe Mutombo Hmm.. okay. I did not connect Zeke nickname to Isiah Thomas. And Mutombo's nickname is Deke, so that mixed me up. Mutombo in 3rd round would have also made sense, although it's bit of a reach. I'll correct it now. Please don't use just the nickname. I guess it can get mixed up.

My Manu Pick got sniped so I’m gonna go with more perimeter defense, and secure the greatest shooting backcourt of all time,
Klay Thompson

Manu is a better all around player with his passing, Klay is a better shooter and defender, can’t go wrong because neither have to have the ball in their hand to be effective, and they create a lot of spacing for teammates.

I'll go with one of the most lethal scorers of all time, and another perfect pick and roll partner to Stockton, Dominique Wilkins.
