Talking about different sim engines is pretty pointless. This is a bbgm league and that's it. If someone is considering starting a new league as commish with different engine, that's another discussion. It would be just shame to stop this one that is running already years, is full of active GMs and good working rule and procedure set. Now we would need someone to do the sims, which seems to be fairly automatic process. And update the league file with trades and depth charts etc. Changing of the roster page is already done by Stuff and 95% of the rebuilds is already done, so stopping rest of rebuilds for rest of the season would not be even the worst thing.

We all just need to calm down for a moment. LOL. Nothing's dead, we're ahead of previous season pace so we're okay for a bit. Scott, are you willing to finish up rebuilds? Who is familiar enough with BGM to run sims? Let's all be good boys and Billy will come back

Not sure if I made myself clear quoting that question about whether the league is dead or not not? LOL. The league is not dead. Like Yeezy said we are ahead of schedule by a couple of weeks so nothing will happen if Billy takes some time off to think things through. But even if he decides to to step down as commish, we can find a solution at least for this season. About the engine and like I said earlier, pretty sure Scott Pilgrim is a basketball gm junkie, lol. So if it comes to that he should be able to do it. About trades, don't know how the voting would be but Stuff and Yeezy are already updating the spreadsheet. About ratings, I think everyone can live even if don't touch them again for what is left of the season.

This would just be to the end of the real life NBA post-season, as I wouldn't have the time to be commissioner after June due to my study commitments in my last year of High School and the HSC. I could handle the simming and posting of box scores but I would need people to take up some other responsibilities, I can't do it all. Thanks.

Seems like we can rely on Stuff and others for stats, trades, and roster updates.

If changes are made though i strongly feel like we need a league wide vote and we need to discuss thing just so everyone or almost everyone is on board. You don't want people quitting because of what might happen with this if something happens.

I'm also willing to take more tasks. Just can't handle the whole commish workload now.
Sort of would be interested to look more into the rating rebuilds, if Billy is willing to share his spreadsheets. I know he put a lot of effort into those. In my work I'm used to working and modifying pretty complex Excel sheets, just can't do programming scripts and that stuff at all, if that is required.

I spent hundreds of hours this summer trying to get an AI to figure out the equation, and it literally just doesn't exist. The player's stats in the sim just have way too much variance to be able to derive their ratings from the stats they put out. Maybe if we stacked multiple years on top of each other... hmm. Future work. Either way, the above sheets are about as good as you can get. Like I said, since there is no equation that relates these skills to their ratings, and when you adjust one rating it adjusts the other. The best bet is using the Ratings--->Skills sheet that I've published and slowly adjusting the ratings until it looks right. I usually start by setting the IQ to an appropriate level based on their OBPM and DBPM. Then I look at the AST%, the TOV/USG ratio and etc and go through them one by one. The last thing I usually set is the shooting skills as they seem the most important, and when you change them they change the other stuff the least. Look at other player's already built that have similar stats and try to model it after that. Eventually you'll get into a "groove" and just know that you're setting 25% AST to about 55 passing, with a slight change for the OIQ and dribbling (which is set on a different rating). Prepare your butthole.

Hide overalls, limited league file access (more difficult without a non-GM simming), reduce in-season rebuilds/SWs (only during an extended All-Star break window?) You should be making moves based on real life players imo anyway. The sim itself is the least fun part to me which may be weird.
I feel like we always kill the golden goose for things we can't or won't do ourselves.
Allan/Billy - SW/Rebuilds - Complaints galore but the reasoning behind it was always #s Trade Committee Days - Guys were taking time to evaluate the deal for the safety of the league not to ruin your day. Steve would always post in depth breakdowns. You may disagree (and I have before) but at least they are taking the time & giving an objective view Stuff/Billy - Rosters/Depth Charts/Etc. - You may have posted an update 24 hours ago but these guys have lives & have a lot to keep up with in here
I've tried to help out in some capacity with TC/PA stuff either now or in the past but like most of the GMs I probably take more than I give to the league due to work/family commitments. With that in mind, everyone please remember to support the people that are keeping this league running.

Sorry to be such a butt
I could come back and do the sims and general running of the league but the way ratings are being handled needs changed immediately and I haven’t heard any great ideas yet
What about using the alexnoob rosters and just rearrange the players. We will just use his rosters each year as he publishes them and not do any in-house rating changes or updates

We will just use his rosters each year as he publishes them and not do any in-house rating changes or updates half the problem besides the complaining is the fact that ratings keep changing. This is like the 4th or 5th time ratings will change this year. The constant tinkering to appease people than can’t/won’t be appeased is out of hand at this point. What exactly will change with this ratings change that didnt change last time?

It would be more of a permanent solution possibly. And it would be less work for Billy. That would be good for him.
Maybe, We should have that poll and if most are on board we can move on from this. That would be awesome.

Im guessing the roster change will occur next season and that we'll just ride this current roster's ratings until the end of the post-season.

Thing is, even Noob’s roster ratings will be tweaked, it’s inevitable. Some of his ratings are off, and they seem like they’ll bring back up the too many high scoring games problem. Honestly feel like the stock watch system should’ve never went away, we never had these problems last year.
